8600GT not displaying anything

I currently bought new Motherboard + Processor..

Gigabyte M68MT-S2
AMD Athlon II x2 250

I had an old 8600GT DDR3 , i have my monitor Samsung 17" CRT connected to it by VGA [ + DVI Connector ] . But there is no display [ no backlight , nothing , as if Monitor is off ]. The fan of the GPU is spinning though. I am now using IGP of motherboard , nVidia 7025.

How to know whether the card is dead ? Any other way without trying it on another PC ? Or is there anything i have to do to make it work with my new motherboard.

The Graphics Card was working fine enough on my previous motherboard , Intel D915GAV.

are you using IGP with the GPU plugged in?

clean the PCIe slot & try again. 8600GT was notorious for overheating & malfunction (as most of them are sold by XFX).

BTW, if you turn off your monitor & turn on again, is anything displayed?

IGP is working with GPU plugged in. Is that not supposed to happen ?

Yes the GPU is from XFX , and it heats like a frying pan :(

Nothing on turning OFf/On , it is weird , earlier it used ti give a No Signal message moving around the screen :(
