6016tx or 6017tx

I want to buy an HP laptop. I want to pick anyone from this two models dv6 6016tx and dv6 6017tx. The former is an i5 model with 6490m graphics and later is an i7 model and more powerful 6770m gfx. I wnt to know the 6017tx wil make more heat than other during normal use ? if yes, then can we acceptable heat ? i am an engineering student, i want to use this to watch HD movies, Internet, Video Editing and a medium gaming. If the dv6 6016tx wil handle all these things ? I prefer 6017tx. but my friends says me that i7 laptops wil produce more heat.

6490m can handle games at medium level of gaming. Heat on 6017tx is aceeptable except the bottom becomes feels hot on the lap while gaming. If you want to game on 6017tx I would recommend a cooling pad if you are not in an AC room. 6016 should run cool as it has an i5 instead of i7

thanks. bt wat about the battery life on stand by , normal use , watching hd movies, playing normal and graphics intensive games ?
i dont hav an AC room and a cooling pad. can i run it in normal use without a cooling pad ? also tell me
what is the speciality of a sandy bridge processor ?

battery life is good. On batteries i watched 5 hrs of movies back to back with GPU off.. You can get a + 2 hrs of battery life with GPU intesive games.

A cooling pad comes under 1k only. It would be a wise investment if you want to play games

While watching movies you can turn of the ATI Radeon graphics and can get extra battery. Moreover I never use the screen at full brightness

hi guys, i am planning to buy 6017tx .
is their any precautions that i should take before buying this lap ? Is their any problems related to this lap ? Should i ask any questions to the retailers about this stuff ? how is the after sale service of HP ?
