50k Future Proof Gaming/HD Movie Build

pnj911

Right off the assembly line
1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: Mainly Gaming: DIRT 3, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, NFS: The Run, Crysis II, Call of Duty: MW3, BF3, Metro 2033, FIFA12, FSX and to watch HD Movies.

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: 50k max initially. Can invest more in the long-term

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: Yes. Mobo should be able support 5ghz + overclocks. Intial overclock will be upto 4.5ghz and then 5 ghz and above after processor upgrade which will be after 2-3 years on the same mobo

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Win XP Pro/Win7 ultimate / Win8

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: None (Already have 2 HDDs – 500GB + 320 GB)

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: Already have a Benq 19” wide screen lcd. 1440x900. Will upgrade to 23” 3D LED Monitor or non 3D 27” LED Monitor with 1080p resolution next year.

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: 500GB + 320 GB SATA HDDs, 19” Benq Monitor, LG DVD Writer & Intex 600VA UPS

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: Next Month. But can wait for a few more months if required.

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: Will be done by assembler.

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Coimbatore. Open to buying online.

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: I want to build a future proof system with a good foundation because I will build my next system only after 4-5 years. I will add a 2nd GPU within 18 months and do a processor upgrade in 24-36 months. I want the mobo to have at least 2 PCI 3.0 slots so that I can SLI / Crossfire X it later. I want Physx so the GPU should be nVidia or I have heard of combining an ATI and nVidia gpus where the ATI gpu is the master gpu and the nVidia card is used for Physx, whichever combination is better. I liked the NZXT Gamma cabinet because it has provision for upto 4 additional fans. I want liquid cooling for the processor. The system should be efficient when it comes to power consumption.

Mainly the mobo should be top-notch so that I can have a simple system now and in the long-term I can build a monster rig on it.

I would prefer a liquid cpu cooler and a nVidia card since I require pHysx.

P.S.: I want to look at only Z77 mobos like the one you mentioned. What do you think of 'ASROCK Z77 pro4 mobo"?

50K for a multi gpu config is too constricted..is it possible to increase the budget? the we may have more suggestions.

nice config although i don't think the dream of 5Ghz oc can be achieved on it..TBH even in SB its wayy too much for continued use...

^^Yeah I know buddy. But as you said, OP's budget is too tight, and the main purpose is gaming, so gave preference to PSU & GPU rather than CPU & motherboard. But in gaming, I really don't think such heavy OC'ing will show a real world difference.

basically at 1920*1080 processor makes no difference....
i had a config in mind but it may push up the budget to 60K

Here is my suggestion:

AMD FX 8150 @ 12K
Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3 @ 6.6K
Corsair A70 Cooler @ 3.4K
G-skill RipjawX 1600 MHz 4GB X 1 @ 1.56K
Gigabyte HD 7870 OC 22K
NZXT Source 210 Elite @ 2.4K
Seasonic SS750JS 750W 80+ PSU @ 5.4K
Logitech G400 Gaming Mouse @ 1.4K
Logitech K100 PS2 Keyboard @ 0.34K

Reasons:

1. CPU: At 1080P gaming, GPU matters more and FX -8150 is more than enough for gaming. Also OP wants higher overclocking potential and we all know about the OC potential of of FX 8100 series. Sumon has overclocked it to 4 GHz with the stock cooler and with a good Air Cooler 4.8 GHz plus is very much possible.

2. CPU Cooler: I've checked several reviews of the Corsair A70 Direct HEat Pipe based Air Cooler and it performs neck to neck with the higher end Noctua Coolers.

3. Graphics card: Upgraded the Graphics card with HD 7870 OC. It performs better than a GTX 580 (it is a factory overclocked Model) and consumes less than half the power. For gaming it is the best higher-mid range GPU.

4. PSU: Suggested 750W PSU as it is more than enough and overkill, considering even the higher overclock. In fact the S12 II 620W is good enough.

5. Gaming Mouse: I think a Gaming Mouse is very much required for Gaming, more than the Keybaord. Logitech G400 is a marvelous product, replacing another gr8 product, MX518.

6. Motherboard: Gigabyte 970A-UD3 offers 8+2 Phase VRM which means it is better suited for higher overclocking.

I think the best thing to do is wait for some more time and save up little more cash to build a better system!
