35K Gaming Rig

I still have time till 13th Jan for buying the new gaming rig. I was thinking of buying a PS3 instead of a GPU as I already own a LG 42inch LED. Another option is that I buy both of them by cutting the cost in the rig components. I know that PS3 games are expensive but I can invest money in PS3 games every month. What would you guys suggest?

What advantage will a PS3 have over a gaming PC? Of course other than exclusive titles. Even a PC can be hooked up to that TV.

Don't you think that this is a very short answer?

That short answer is enough, anyways - For long run pc is better option then PS3 as you can game with Higher Fps,Higher texture quality,Large numbers of players in multiplayer on large maps + your native true resolution you set can be used (whereas in PS3 most games run @30fps at 720p) + you can use AA for smooth edges + you can mod games + Much more visual options you get. Most important is In long run you save more money as Pc games are cheap as compared to PS3 - Pc games- you can get from rs 500 - 2000 from steam/origin whereas PS3 game costs from 3-4k.In Pc you can do many other work other than gaming, but PS3 Can't.You can easily upgrade Pc anytime, but you cannot upgrade PS3 harware :)

I was thinking for ps3 because of better offline multi player games to play with friends. Anyway, I think you all are right. PS3 is not worth it in the current scenario. I will go with the PC Gaming Rig.

Ashish, I have extended my budget by 10K. What would you say about this config? Does it need any changes?

FX 6300 @ 7.5K
Asus M5A97 LE @ 5.5K
Kingston 8GB Hyper Blue 1600mhz @ 4.6K
ZOTAC GTX 650 Ti Boost 2GB @ 12.6K
Antec VP450P @ 2.7K
Asus 24B5ST DVD-RW @ 1.1K
NZXT Gamma @ 2.3K
Dell S2240L @ 8.7K

Total: 45K

Instead of Asus M5A97 LE MB its better to go for any Gigabyte or MSI MB's because that entry level MB is not at all good for OCing. The best I can see is Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3 or MSi 970A-G43 which are good overclockers but MSI northbridge heats up some what due to no NB heatsink.OK.

PC is a multi-purpose machine but PS3 or XBox One are only used for games, browsing and movies.

I have finalized on a new rig after saving some more money. Any modifications needed?

Intel Xeon E3-1230 V2 @ 15K
Gigabyte B75M-D3H @ 4.6K
Kingston 8GB Hyper Blue 1600mhz @ 4.7K
Samsung 840 EVO 120GB @ 6.8K
HIS R9 270X ICEQ X2 Boost 2GB DDR5 @ 15.6K
Seasonic S12II 520W @ 4.2K
Asus 24B5ST DVD-RW @ 1.1K
Betfenix Merc Alpha @ 2.8K
Dell S2240L @ 8.6K
Logitech G400 @ 2K
Sennheiser HD 202 II @ 2K

Total: 67.4K - 6K (Old Rig) = 61.4K

Its better to go with v3 version of Intel Xeon (Haswell Chipset) and a good B85 MB of which both cost around 15.9k + 6k.I mean this MB has more SATA3 ports than a H77 or H75 MB.
