Yes u can use 32bit programs and windows on a 64bit pc.They run a bit slower on a 64bit edition of windows. But thats very old news once mentioned in digit when they reviewed win 64bit edition.

Well .. u can run 32 bit OS on a 64 bit processor , but make sure the OS supports it (i mean no Win98SE on Athlon64) .. also .. 32 bit apps. will run on 64 bit OS , but under emulation mode .. so some apps. may be a bit incompatible ...

Also ... PentiumD 930 is a 64bit processor ... this is no relation with how good the CPU is with oc'ing ...

yeah allmost every program will work on Windows XP x64, as it has a emulation on board to run all the 32bit versionb of program...

but there are very few option for AntiVirus... but in this days few major AVS company does came up with 64bit AVS, such as KAV 6.0 will work... AGV will work..

but few small tools which may be important to u, may not work in Windows XP x64, i have seen with my system...

but i would suggest to to shift to x64. I am fully satisfied I don't see performance loss and more u will have extra headspace for installing 64 bit aplication.
Now there are no driver problems(except few)
@saurav_cheeta btw now all the avs support x64
