~150cc Bike Purchase - Advice
Hi,
I'm looking to buy a bike with an engine in the 150cc range.
I'd mostly be using the bike for short-medium haul travel within the city itself
Want the bike the have just the lil' hint of bling, not too much. Hence I'm not including Yamaha's FZ-* bikes [too blingy] or Bajaj's Discover [a bit plain jane]
I've presently shortlisted the following two bikes
1. Bajaj Pulsar 150 DTSi
2. TVS Apache RTR 160

Please give your suggestions & inputs. Intend to ake a purchase decision by the end of this week
Thanks :)

Go for TVS Apache RTR 160, extremely fun to ride and good for short travels. Powerful engine compared to pulsar.

If you can extend a bit and don't care about mileage, Go for Karizma R. But, It's more of a tourer than a city commuter. Apache RTR 160 is only next to FZ when it comes to city commuting.

thanks for the input. I've heard that TVS service centers are hard to find. Bajaj, OTOH, even a guy sitting in the open, under a tree can fix :D
that makes me a little hesitant in going with the Apache

Also how do the two fare in terms of mileage? Ride comfort between the two [my height being slightly above 5 ft 10 inches]

want to keep the on-road price of the bike in the mid-70K range.
Mileage is important. I have to pay for my own petrol ;)

A back-to-back TD of both the bikes will give you a clear idea on which one to buy.

Wait for Duke 150cc. It will be released shortly.

What's your budget btw ??

If your height is more than 5'10" I'd suggest you to go for Pulsar(CBZ is better bike though), bcoz my height is also 5'10" and I think Apache won't be very comfortable for my back for 50km+ rides. If mileage+cost is your primary concern, Pulsar 135 is an exceptionally good bike.

No official word on it, yet.

AFAIK, KTM will be releasing two more variants soon. 125cc Duke & XC 150cc on the way. We are working on it. Also a 390cc variant from Bajaj as well as KTM will be in market.

I knew about 390cc bike but 125 & 150 are news for me.

You working for KTM?

KTM is going to flood the market with their latest Superbikes as well as 125cc Duke & 150cc XC trail.

Nope, i don't work for KTM or Bajaj Directly.
