1. I changed many services in: my computer->manage->services to "manual" to speed up my PC. one of them apparently controls NAV live update. The liveupdate is not launching at all, showing error, even when I launch it manually. ne ideas? Plz don't ask me to reinstall.

2. I don't know why my internet explorer has completely stopped functioning. It launches bt when i give a web address in the address bar, simply nothing happens!! I tried installing explorer 7, bt it tries to validate frm the microsoft site(which obviously fails) and then exits. What can I do?

For the first, go to services.msc and look for entries such as "Norton ...", "Live..." and "Symantec...". Set them to automatic.

For the second, I havent used IE7 and for that matter I havent used IE6 for a long time... You can try two alternative browsers - Opera and Firefox. Both have their strong and weak points and you will find a lot of people preferring one over the other. But both of them are better than IE in the sense that they are both constantly improving and providing better functionality. If you want to stick to IE, you might want to check out other posts...

i fixed the live update problem. only the ie prob remains. ther's no error message. just nothing hapens when i enter a web address. sorry, can't reinstall. i m using maxthon and firefox. opera seems to be linked with ie. it is showing the same problem, and even avant browser is showing the same problem. it is opening fine, showing the files of the comp fine, just it's not at all connecting to the internet.

You should be able to remove IE7 by going to Add/Remove Programs in Control panel. There is a checkbox on top that says "Show Updates". If this is ticked, you will get list of updates and this should have an entry....

Or see if there is a hidden folder
C:\windows\$NtUninstallie7beta1$
There should be a spuninst.exe program within this in a subfolder called spuninst.
