My Asus notebook is acting weird these days. It just shuts down that's it! There is no temperate issue and I ran memory test that was ok. Hdd is also good. Generally in my observation such issues occur when motherboard goes faulty.
I will take it to service center but I suspect they will...

I have an Inter Core2Duo E8400 processor, and it has lately been reporting temperatures of about 80-100C. I have tried cleaning it and changed the thermal paste a number of times, it doesn't help. I suspect that the system might be reporting bogus values. Usually it used to report 50-60C...

1. Bittorrent and other P2P - I have actually seen this. Even if the systems have restricted user accounts uTorrent and Ares are being used.

Netmeter, a bandwidth monitoring software (the best, I believe), reports a steady 31 KBps (kilobytes) when downloading anything.
Now for the curious part. Within the downloading application itself - be it Opera or utorrent - the speed is 28 KBps...
