    Samsung 740N LCD no display

My 740N went dead yesterday, only the power light comes on without display. Checked the VGA cable so looks like the display needs repair. Does anyone have the Samsung service centre number in Bangalore or address?

    Graphics card for dual monitor

Budget comes after I decide which card will suffice. I'll check the local market for prices tomorrow and check if any dealer can "rent" one for the time needed. 1k for 2 weeks is more than enough.

Going to use it for 2 weeks only, 23k is not feasible.

    Graphics card for dual monitor

Need to add a graphics card for a couple of weeks, as I have to run photoshop and powerpoint together on separate monitors, no gaming. Currently using the onboard graphics of Asus P5 GC MX on a 19", 1024 x 768 LCD. The other temporary monitor will be my old 15" CRT at 800 X 600. I don't want...

    P5GC-MX mobo problem with modem

It's quite possible that a different bios version may have a bug in the lan. When 0108 does not support 2gb, it only shows that Asus quality control is zero. Why not use a lan card and see if it works?

    P5GC-MX mobo problem with modem

When you switch on the bios version is displayed, or just hit delete to get into the bios. This particular asus model has problems, google the net to find them. Some don't even support 2GB ram. The bios version 0108 does not appear on the Asus site!!

    Hard Drive very slow

The install of XP was bad, very slow in copying files. C drive is almost empty, except for MS office and 2 others. No Visual Studio, absolutely no games, system speed is excellent except for disk operations.

    Hard Drive very slow

Yes, however PC wizard shows the read speed as 10 times more than the write speed? Even before installing XP, it took ages to copy the files from CD to HDD. I think it's the BIOS, but don't know what needs to be done.

    Hard Drive very slow

Recently bought an asus P5GC MX motherboard with E4500 and Seagate 250Gb Sata. Using PC wizard 2008 the read drive speed is reported as 166Mb/ps but the write speed is 16Mb/ps ??? Copying a 700mb file between partitions takes about 7 minutes. The Bios is revision 0108 and the Asus site has no...

Is P4 3.0 Ghz better than Intel PD 2.8 Ghz 820 Processor?

A google search finds that there are "brackets" which enable a microatx to be fitted into an ATX cabinet. Wonder if they are available here?

Is P4 3.0 Ghz better than Intel PD 2.8 Ghz 820 Processor?

Thanks for all the replies. The idea was to buy the mb/cpu/ram in 12k as an upgrade, but it does'nt seem to be possible. Looks like a new cabinet is needed too. Even if I use an Intel D915GAVL mb with a 3Ghz cpu/ 1 Gb ram the old cabinet does not have the slots in front for the USB ports. My...

Is P4 3.0 Ghz better than Intel PD 2.8 Ghz 820 Processor?

    >>You will face problem with form factor in your existing ATX cabinet. I do'nt know what form factor is. I thought the mounting holes may not match and the rear panel would'nt fit. You mean a microatx m/b cannot be fitted in an ATX cabinet?

Is P4 3.0 Ghz better than Intel PD 2.8 Ghz 820 Processor?

Planning to buy a Intel D102GGC2 motherboard with either a P4 3.0 Ghz cpu or the PD 2.8Ghz 820. Is it true that the PD 820 has heating problems? Which CPU is better in performance? Is it possible to mount the D102GGC in my existing ATX cabinet, the rear panel may not match the motherboard...

    How to speedup old computer?

The monitor is dead. Took it to the repair shop and found it needs a part which is not available. 17" is enough for me and right now I can't even use the computer, so I might as well buy the new monitor. Whether it will work properly at 1280x1068 is the key. I don't want to use it at 800x600

    How to speedup old computer?

More memory or graphic card? My old P III 800Mhz with 128 Mb Ram on an Intel M/b 810 EA(built in graphics and sound) needs a new monitor. As I would like to add a 17" LCD monitor to it, the display would become 1280 x 1024. I'm sure the computer will become slower at this display size, so do I...
