whitestar_999: thanks for responding to my query.
I changed the Channel setting to "Auto" and my connection is working fine now. Earlier, the connection did not work when it was set to "Channel 6". Does anyone have any idea why?
Regarding the other doubts I had, again, everything seems to...
Hi Whitestar, thanks for resonding.
I'm a little wary about publishing my network details on this open forum. Can you tell me what I should be looking for in the settings? (I have many years of computing experience--right from the days of DOS :-) so don't worry about talking jargon; I'll...
Hi,
How do I wirelessly connect my 2 PCs to a modem+router such that the pc to pc browsing is isolated from the internet connection (WAN)?
In detail:
I recently purchased a D-Link DSL-2730U modem router to replace my bsnl wired modem, the idea being to connect my 2 PCs wirelessly (to...
Once again, everyone thanks for all the suggestion you made.
Sadly, it all has come to naught. I approached two assemblers here and both of them said the A10 is no longer available and instead I'd have to go for the newer AMD CPU... and ultimately because of this, the final cost of the AMD...
Thanks everyone for your helpful comments and suggestions.
Harshil, I know 64-bit OS *is* backward compatible with 32-bit apps, but not all of them run on 64-bit. I've noticed that some apps -- especially those that interact very closely with the hardware -- don't run in 64-bit.
Anyway...
Since we call it "on-board" graphics, I always thought it was on the motherboard! Okay, so is the AMD A10 good enough to play games w/out buying a separate graphics card?
I'm really wary of buying online. It's a case of one bitten twice shy -- only, in my case, I've been bitten thrice! Three...
Thanks, Harshil.
Thanks Akash.
With your suggestion, the PC may come to about Rs.33,500/- (I'm guessing with the AMD A10, I won't need a separate graphics card for mid-range gaming. Is that correct?)
Some doubts:
a) Is the AMD A10 a Phenom CPU?
b) Will a Gigabyte motherboard have a good...
Hi,
Can someone here please help me out?
1) I am thinking of purchasing a PC mainly for home use -- internet browsing, office apps, HD movies [no 3D movies/videos], and mid-range gaming (games like Need for Speed, GTA, Age of Empire -- but not any of the new action games as I prefer games...
Resolved: Problem activating MS Office 2010 Home and Student Edition
Hi all,
After working for nearly 2 weeks with a Microsoft Tech Support guy, I have finally managed to get it to activate!
The problem was due to conflicting access permissions on the system (both, to some system folders...
Thanks, topgear, for your suggestion.
My IP address is static. As suggested by you, I changed it to dynamic, rebooted and tried to activate, but it was of no use. I am still getting the same error.
Thanks.
Sunil
Hi all,
Though I am a long-time reader of Digit, this is the first time I'm posting here.
I have recently purchased MS Office 2010 Home & Student edition Retail version. Now, for the last two weeks, I have been trying to activate it, but all in vain.
Whenever I try to activate it via...
