Recommend book for learning HTML, CSS.

I really suggest you take a look at the HTML intro provided at w3schools.com. Going through their "Basic" section shouldn't take more than an hour or two. It's great to get your feet wet. Here's the link: HTML Introduction - W3Schools Once you go through that, go ahead and buy a book. I...

Unveiling of the World's First 2GB Graphics Card

2 Gb is something man! I still remember the Voodoo and Riva TNT days when 16Mb was a dream come true!! We've come a long way since then.. and it didn't take too long either :D

    All laptop related queries here!!!

Well the bloatware shouldn't be too much of a prob. since I plan to use Ubuntu. I checked out the performance figures for the X2300 vs 3450. Pretty huge difference. Vaio CR seems like a waste of money.. I heard bargaining is possible for Dell. Do the Sony guys reduce the price too? If I can...

    All laptop related queries here!!!

Thanx for replying.. and for the new name ;) Dell XPS seems to go above 55k after taxes (am gonna purchase it from Delhi). I checked out the Dell Studio as well and it seems like a good buy. But I wanna know how Dell's service is. I mean I know that Sony service centers are out there in every...

    All laptop related queries here!!!

Hi, I'm planning to purchase a new notebook very soon. After a bit of research, I've decided to go for either a Vaio CR series notebook or a Dell Inspiron series. I plan to use Ubuntu on it mostly, so HP is out of question. And I will play games on it occasionally, so it'd be nice if the...

Done with C theory. Now what?

+1 @cynosure: Don't forget to solve the exercises in K&R.. Regarding, practice, I'd recommend that you work on a couple of small projects (in C of course) and get used to the actual language and coding styles. And then, when you're comfortable converting your ideas to C code, pay a visit...

    Alienware Plans for Linux

Moves like this should increase native gaming support on Linux... Let's hope so atleast. I don't see why Linux can't become the platform of choice for gamers. I remember reading a related article a few days ago. Check it out here.

    social networking websites..

It's funny to watch Orkut addicts (you'll find a lot of them. Just look around!) run around to check their scrapbooks every 15 mins or so (the time varies). Freakin' worse than dope addicts! I mean, don't these people get bored or something? IMHO, if your orkut acct. gets deleted one day (God...

UK’s most Spammed person Bombarded with 44001 emails a day

Hmmm.. pretty impressive for a workshop foreman. :) And don't forget he used to clean up all that spam in "almost 2 hours". That's probably another world record lol.

Windows Vista Is Superior to Leopard, XP, Linux, and All of Open Source

That ain't gonna make me come back to Vista. Besides, most vulnerabilities are discovered only when REAL PEOPLE start using it. So, in other words, we can safely say that Vista will retain the "least vulnerable" position for a long time to come :D

Debian and FreeBSD - which ISOs to download?

Sigh. Actually I did try Lenny on Etch but it failed for some strange reason (some libc error if I remember correctly). Downloading all the stuff again is next to impossible in my case thanks to my super fast broadband GPRS connection :)

    Error installing Ubuntu

Not sure about this.. But isn't sdb6 the root partition? So maybe changing root=/dev/sdb3 to root=/dev/sdb6 might fix it. You can install grub using the grub-install command with the name of the device as the argument. (Don't add the partition number at the end, for eg, DON'T type /dev/sdb1 as...

    Suggest me a Unix OS

Solaris is probably the most advanced OS on the planet. But I'd recommend the Solaris platform (OpenSolaris, Solaris Dev. Edition etc.) or any other "pure" UNIX only if you are going to use its advanced features or if you want the additional security/stability. If you're just starting out with...
