You forgot to mention how old it is and didn’t include a picture either.

Also, why do you want to sell it anyway? Mac didn’t suit you, or upgrading to a better one?

1. You forgot to mention processor model.
2. You forgot to mention ram frequency and latency.
3. You forgot to mention if expansion slots exist for external graphics card.
4. You forgot to mention how old this is.
5. You forgot to mention the camera's max resolution.
6. You forgot to mention bundled software.

Conformations:

1. Is the drive a combo drive or a DVD-RAM drive ?

err.. External graphics card for a Laptop? o_O
many HP laptops support it from what I have heard.
this feature increases the cost price by only a tiny amount, but the sale value goes through the roof often, because one can buy cheap onboard models or models with low end 8400GS and replace it with something good at a low price.

Assuming that his information is correct, it has about half a year of warranty left.

1. You forgot to mention processor model.
He did mention it.

2. You forgot to mention ram frequency and latency.
LOL! It’s not as if that would influence anyone’s decision. You don’t buy a Mac based on the exact specifications of the RAM. It’s not even a factor.

3. You forgot to mention if expansion slots exist for external graphics card.
Yeah, right. LOL!

4. You forgot to mention how old this is.
That’s the only thing the guy forgot.

5. You forgot to mention the camera's max resolution.
All Macs have the same iSight camera. It’s pointless mentioning the resolution, even if he knows it.

6. You forgot to mention bundled software.
All Macs come with the same software bundle—Mac OS X (and all its applications), iLife and Comic Life.

1. Is the drive a combo drive or a DVD-RAM drive ?
Again, no Mac comes with a DVD-RAM drive. It’s a combo drive.

If you need to ask any of these questions, you’re clearly not even considering buying it.

can't you stop your ignorant mac boy attitude for once ?
what is wrong in ensuring that the buyer is better informed of what he buys ?
all macbooks are laptops and mentioning details helps.
ask anyone on this forum and he will tell you that to buy something, details are needed.

firstly, he never mentioned the processor model. he just said C2D 2.1GHz. He never said which.

secondly, there is nothing wrong with specs about ram.

thirdly, I am disappointed you are ignorant of what features a laptop can have.

fourthly, let all macs have iSight camera. Why should he NOT tell the resolution ? Again, the more details you show the buyer, the more informed his buying will be and the more overall benifit to the buyer. What if the buyer was looking for a higher res camera and this was not good enough ? He can't sell it back, can he ?

fifthly, about the drive. Thanks for pointing out that point. btw, by combo drive aren't you refering to drive which reads DVDs and CDs, but writes only CDs ?

Finally, I ask you once again to get rid of this elitist I will buy anything apple and so should you attitude. There is nothing wrong in furnishing details about something someone wants to sell.

Please let the poor seller sell in peace and stop commenting on questions which are not asked to you.

No, no, no.

You’ve got it all backwards. Macs are not regular PCs. You don’t put them next to each other and compare them spec-for-spec. That’s not how anyone who intends to purchase Macs does it. That’s what trolls on online forums do, just to satisfy their need for trolling.

It’s not like a person who set out to buy a Mac will buy a Sony VAIO instead because it has a 2MP camera as opposed to the 1.3MP iSight on Macs. When you purchase a Mac, you compare it against other Macs. Therefore, mentioning exact details about the RAM, the bundled software and the camera resolution is utterly pointless. He’s interested in people who’d want to purchase his Mac, not in you. And people who’d want to purchase a Mac would never want to know the resolution of the camera.

Like it or not, that’s just the way it is. I think that I’m in a much better position to know about it than you are, having bought a Mac myself and answered innumerable questions of potential Mac buyers. Let me assure you, not one of them ever wanted to know the resolution of the camera. You were just pointlessly badgering the thread-starter and he even indirectly expressed his frustration.

In any case, enjoy the trolling, I’m outta here. It’s a shame that a guy can’t even sell a Mac in peace out here.

you're doin quite the contrary... if theres anyone who deserves to ask that huge list of questions you posed, then its a potential buyer, or probably the mods, if they think it to be that necessary... its pretty base of you to intimidate the poor guy...
im pretty sure someone who's interested in buying it would go into the details before sealing the deal...
and well, even though im not the biggest fan of apple inc., i think aryayush isnt being a 'macboy' or anything... he probably knows a good deal about it, so he's talking about it...

what is the need to sell it only coz he is not familiar with MAC. install windows on it na.

or is there any other real reason for selling it :)

if he is not familiar with a mac, then its better to sell it off because for the same amount he gets by selling it, he can get a very good non apple non sony non HP laptop instead(Dell 1525, Compaq, Dell 1420, Acer Aspire, etc;).

And it makes a good business to buy a mac abroad and sell it here because despite being second hand, its actually sellable for higher than cost price. So if you go abroad for anything, you can buy products which are really really costly in India but dirt cheap abroad and sell it here for throwaway prices. ATi cards and Macs in USA, Wine in France, Gadgets in Japan, Petrol in Saudi Arabia, etc are good examples.

@Aayush: lets just hope such instances never happen again here. ;)
