Help needed choosing Healthy Computer desk and chair..

Hi gUYS..

I am abhijith from Mysore..

This topic may sound funny but really i am sick of the desk and chair i use.....
i want to select a best Computer desk and chair ,

I am a computer science gradute(now doing MCA)i'm atleast 6 hours infront of pc,,, I am suffering from back pain :( and my elbow & wrist are more painful ... now a days i cant sit infront of pc more than half an hour,... wrist and elbow starts paining seriously and i loose concentration and get angry and many times i even have thrown the mouse and key board away... coz this is all due to the bad posture.. i have tried changing the desk and chair but found no relief...
and finally thought of asking here on Forums....

--> :confused: what should be the height of table and chair ?
--> Please do suggest me what should be the Ht and width,,,
or tell me the standard healthy requirement while choosing the
desk and chair.....

I thank u in anticipation ,, ur suggestions will mean a lot to me ..
plz help me out to get out this,,,

d00d u will face seriuos health issues in d future

i suggest u go 4 a run in d morining and workout in d gym in d evening

2 strenghten ur wrist do wrist curlings, preacher curler

4 strenghtne ur back u must do exercises like dead lifts, squats [m/c or barbells] and skipping beside swimmin if u can

along with d above

as 4 height of the table and chair der is no single 1 answer 4 dis since v all posses different anthropometric configuration thus needin different hight and width

but d monitor should b in d eye level
and d postuiion of a keyboard and mouse shoud b such dat dey do noT cause strAin du 2 prolonged usage

if needed design ur own computer table 2 suit ur height and comfort and den get it fabricated from a carpenter

as 4 d ergonomically designed chair, u may wan 2 ask ur local orthopedic doc 4 a suggestion (if required turn your doctor around on his chair and check our d brand of chair he is sitting on ;))

i am enough sick about pc's .. i am worried as i got to still spend my coming years in the same IT field .. who cares for money . and there is lot stress...
now still being a student i am not able to sustain it ......... and how about the later stages ... well that;s the only which can earn my bread now..

I had the similar problems.. I had constant pain in my wrist neck shoulders.

My solution was to just get 'casual' with my keyboard and mouse. Instead of keeping it on the desk I kept the mouse and keyboard on my lap :D.
one sure shot solution for wrists is to keep some sort of wrist pad. i used a couple of books below my wrist to raise their level. *images.google.com/images?q=wrist+pad&sourceid=opera&num=25&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&sa=N&tab=wi

height - your eyes should be just above the top level of your monitor.
back- just keep a cushion to support your lower back. Make sure your back isn't curved but in the 'natural' position.

Tips -
-change your posture regularly. Get up every 15-20 minutes(set a schedular for this) and walk around
-google for chair exercies and strecthing.
-When u r not typing or using the mouse , strech your body and rest those elbows!
-Ultimately I got so sick of sitting in my chair, I turned my monitor around and started sitting on my bed. Now I keep my laptop on the bed and sit on the floor :D . it works great!

Check some furniture from Godrej. They are expensive but the ergonomics is good! Also you can Google for the height n all!
