Selling 8/256 model is already a crime, while they are at they have managed to pull this s**t across all new models:

They are only going to get worse.

M2 mac air has slower SSD than M1 mac air?

If true, not like we can do anything. People just don't get that Apple products aren't worth their price. My problem with Apple is not that they sell expensive products (people can spend money wherever they want), its their undue influence because of which tech become more anti-consumer.

Yeah, they take reference from the lowest common denominator of users when designing their products. Making a locked down environment in the name of simplification, but it's mostly to prevent users from extracting more value from it.

A trillion dollar company & they can't make a calculator app optimised for tablets yet.
Have seen this argument crop up multiple times for different companies, and it seems like none of the trillion and even billion dollar companies are able to do what they net worth entails. Guess it's a reality of our world where money is spent more on adverts and social engineering to extract more value from their users than to actually develop products, and it works. {Microsoft is more guilty of this than anyone imo :p}

This is nothing apple specific though...

Forcing them to use USB-C in EU and India is a step in the right direction IMO. Now all they have to do is allow sideloading apps and flashing custom ROMs and I will be in Apple's camp.
Just sideloading apps and changing the defaults(like Launcher) would be a huge boon but apple being apple I just can't see them doing out of they own accord. Even for charging there are speculations that Apple would try forgoing cable altogether and go the magsafe only route as soon as possible.

Regulations are needed for things like this. But the law takes time to catch up with technology as we see in this case.

BTW, I think the main reason the indian regulators were so quick in going for "all Type c" is because of the decision in the EU. I highly doubt these bureaucrats had the time or drive to actually investigate the reason for this change. Still, Im glad the EU pushed for this change. It will benefit us all in the future.

Im thinking of buying a 100 watt GaN charger in the future. Will power both my laptop (for light usage) and phone.

I can see their intentions here though. They want to not half ass their products. This is kinda commendable when you have companies pushing half done services for the sake of it that feel more like A/B tests (for us to go through and for them to only work on it if it catches on) than apps they actually expect us to use.
Even after more than a decade?

Ultimately it doesn't seem to bother apple users as much. Yeah it's funny that apple still haven't done it but it takes a user minutes to download a new app from appstore. You know what would have really irked these people? A scaled up non-polished version of the iPhone calculator app. From what I have gathered from taking to iPhone owners its the polish they respect the most, they don't really give two hoots about lost features. And like he said:

It bothers me very much.

Apple UI is seriously not that polished as people claim to be. Once you use modern Android UI, A12+, apple feels really rough and non-efficient. The way the buttons are placed, the response/reaction on presssing them everything feels very inefficient

Only on top end android smartphones or well optimized AOSP roms. Even worst Apple UI will beat hands down any mid range android phone running typical manufacturer rom in terms of overall user experience.

I mean, if you are taking about just the UI the last time I used iOS even I strongly disliked it as compared to even android 7. Everything was big bulky and uncustomisable for anyone who disliked the opinionated layout. But if someone does prefer it, I can totally understand how the often buggy and sometimes inconsistent android UI can feel clunky to them.

Just talking about the rough experience. Didn't understand efficiency coming into play in the UI at all, maybe you haven't grown used to the UI and can't be as efficient on it as android? You need it give it more time if that's the case and poor efficiency is your main concern imo

Considering the price of iPhones, Samsung & Pixels are best to be compared with iPhone. Apple does stupid stuff on their UI, like WiFi toggle on top bar (or whatever its called) doesn't turn off WiFi, just disconnects it & even then at midnight it will reconnect to your WiFi is what I heard. Don't know who thought this is a good thing.

I agree most people will never use routines on Samsung like I do (can automate stuff like turn this off or on at specific time, location, etc), but still android doesn't do what iOS does. I think BT button is a similar case of just disconnecting.

I have very limited experience with apple devices but what I also meant was that buying a used apple device at around similar price of a latest mid range android new phone also should be able to give overall better user experience. The main issue with Android phones, especially running Chinese manufacturer rom is that you never know when an update will break the good battery backup or camera photo quality or gaming performance & so on.

I am using iPad along with Android phone, running color os 13.

It feels, to say change some setting in iOS one has to always take a longer route instead in Android the shorter route is there. Plus it feels more fluid.
