Google play store not working

Hi Guys,

I am using GT-S7262 with Android v4.1.2 . The phone is not rooted. Last month Google Play stopped working all of a sudden. Whenever I used to open it, I would get an error cannot connect to internet. After sometime the error changed to Error Retrieving Information from Server RH-01. I cleared data, cache and uninstalled all the updates but it didn't help. I even cleared data of Google Services framework and force stopped it, even removed the google account. Cleared data of apps such as play store, play services and rebooted the phone but it din't work. Even signing out and again signing in didn't work. I was getting this error in the Android System Recovery

So, I formatted my phone and the default Play Store version is opening but when I click on download any app I get this error "ABCD" could not downloaded due to an error. (Error retrieving information from server. [DF-DLA-15]). What should I do now? Exhausted all the available wayouts from xda.

Thanks

Hello billubakra, i got the same issue. Did you solve your issue? please share the solution.

I have tried to:
1. clear caches and clear data as posted in the answer by alina but didn't fix the issue
2. i also install/update to the latest google play store from *MOD EDIT: REMOVED* but didn't fix the problem

The latest method that i don't want to try is factory reset my phone. So if this issue has been solved can you share the solution?

thanks,
Hi,
Open play store>>settings>>play store version. After you click on play store version it will either tell you that a new version will be downloaded and installed or it will tell you that it is up to date. If you are on JB or below then it might not work as the os is outdated as per Google.

Seems your Google play version is outdated and now you cant update it via google play store so you will be need to manually download google play apk file from trusted source and install it to your mobile.

Make sure that you download correct version and bit for your mobile.

If possible then check for software update. (Firmware).

When I faced that issue in the older phone, the only solution was what I posted in the last post.

Did you remove google account and clear updates on play store and logged in back?

If google play unable to update then OP will need to manually upgrade google play.

If it will allow to upgrade via google play(as mentioned by you) then it will be better and safe.
