Help me choose the right Xperia

I plan to get a new phone, and I am torn down between few Sony Xperia smartphones.

I'm confused between Sony XA Ultra and Xperia X. Or should I wait for XA1 to launch. My budget is 22k-23k (max), and I don't think XA1 will be available anywhere below 25k.

I love XA Ultra's display and camera. I also understand XA Ultra doesn't have a fingerprint sensor or big internal storage (I can live with 16GB space).

What I'm concerned about XA's performance. Is it laggy? Slow? Any member here who owns XA Ultra? Any usage review? I intend to use the phone for at least one year.?

Is XA1 worth the wait? When compared to XA Ultra? Please advise.

(and yes..I'm not a serious gamer)

Mid range Xperia lineup has been crap for last 2 years. Fill the questionnaire.
Budget - 18k to 24k
Display type and size - 5.5 or 6 inch
Dual sim - Yes
What camera option you want (flash, front facing camera) - Yes.
Preferred operating system - Android.
Preferred connectivity options - 4G
Primary use of handset - Music, Photography and Browsing
Any specific mobile phones in consideration - XA Ultra, Xa1, X.

No hybrid setup. need a dedicated slot for memory card.
Camera and display needs to be excellent.

Any reason for looking out only for Xperia device?
I love the premium feel they offer. Distinct design and form factor. Not unlike other phones in the market that are "inspired" from iPhones. And even for a 6 Inch device. XA Ultra feels very thin and compact.

I'm open to recommendations from other brands too. But, as I mentioned in the questionnaire, the budget can't be extended.

Well, you are correct. Xperia devices do stand apart. Why not go for X? Is 5" inch screen small for you? It is much more feature-rich than any of XA's.

Yeah. 5" is a bit small for me. I would have managed if it were at least 5.5". And honestly, size is the only issue that I have with X.

Btw. Do you happen to know anything about XA Ultra? Have you used it?

One of my friends have it and he is very happy with it. But on paper, it really lacks the specs. and atleast I would certainly advise anybody not to buy it.

2600 mAh battery in xperia X is too low for a phone with SD 650 you may need to charge your phone twice a day.

Apparently, I've learnt that the batteries that come with Sony pack quite a punch. They last a whole day on nominal use. What I was wondering is which one to go for X or XA Ultra.

Can you recommend one? If not these then any other below 25k?

Obviously a 2600 mAh battery will last entire day on a low end soc and 720p screen without essential sensors.

Sony had already shutdown mobile division in India so after sales support may be issue in future

why don't you go for moto g5 plus it is somewhat overpriced but still within your budget but i must warn you it doesn't have compass sensor if compass is needed then choose moto z play over moto g5 plus

But sony is launching new models in India this year. How can they shutdown mobile division in India?

And yes, even I had planned on buying g5 plus, but have a bit more budget. Can you recommend me something around 20-22k?

@Minion thats not possible that sony is closing mobile division in India as it has now launched there top of the line Xperia models in India. Also they have service centres available unlike some Chinese companies .

I was a big Sony fan but after the blunder they made with my C5Ultra I am not going to consider Sony this time.

Sony would be discontinuing its mid range lineup worldwide. G5+ is currently the best phone you can get under 20k. G5s launch is rumored this month.

A phone worth 15k was launched at 48k and can't even shoot at 4k while RN3 with same hardware does it.

If you only want to go with xperia series, xperia X is the decent choice for you. You should first make your mind regarding the brand. If you are open to other brands, then there are options with better specs.

@SaiyanGoku who actually shoot videos at 4k anyways? It occupies a lot of space and less than 1% general consumer market has screens to support that high resolution.
Xiaomi phones doesn't come anywhere near to Xperia when it comes to product quality. There is absolutely no comparison.
