HP Omen Laptop Vs Desktop

Afternoon ladies & gentlemen,

It has been a long time since I have been on these forums and finally I found a reason to come back. Remembering as to how helpful the people on the forum are I decided to seek your advice.

I am planning to upgrade my 3 yr old laptop and I am confused between the latest HP Omen Laptop or Desktop.

I am extremely busy and have neither the time nor the patience to assemble my own system, I just want a plug and play system.

I have narrowed it down to this

HP Omen Laptop : HP Omen Notebook (1HQ36PA)

HP Omen Desktop : OMEN by HP Desktop PC - 870-260in

Both cost the same.

Points in favour of desktop

1. More powerful processor(In top 5 apparently)

2. Can be upgraded(Maybe ?, what do you think ?)

3. Slightly more powerful GPU

4. 1 TB Extra HD space

Points in favour of Laptop

1. Mobility

2. Less powerful processor but adequate for most games

3. Only slightly less powerful GPU but double graphics memory( 6 GB Vs 3 GB)

4. Double SSD space

5. Inbuilt peripherals(dont have to buy them separately)

Please let me know what you think.

Thanks And Regards,
Abhijit

Both have BS pricing.

Either get a desktop assembled (it may be time taking but it is worth it) or get a quote from www.azom.systems or a sager/clevo laptop from USA.

AMD's Ryzen is on its way. 8C16T R7 1700 for 329$, 4C8T R5's are supposed to be around the 220-250$ mark.

That 140k desktop has no monitor  times 9000

You can have a GTX 1080 build for same price or a GTX 1070 build with 4k monitor

I don't trust them. I am willing to pay, I just want to get the best for my money leaving aside assembled systems

For 1.4 lakhs you can easily get a GTX 1070 desktop or even GTX 1080. That Omen desktop isn't worth 1.4 lakhs. The 3GB GTX 1060 is weaker than 6GB GTX 1060 due to lower clocks.

If you have to buy one among them get the Omen laptop although my personal choice would be an assembled desktop.
