Nvidia GeForce Experience Update Error

Hi Friends,

I updated the Nvidia drivers from the Nvidia Control Panel icon which used to be in the right hand corner of the screen near time and wifi icons etc. The Nvidia GeForce Experience update (what is this btw) started downloading and installing and then I got an error that C++ has closed down or something and then I got this-

Now the Nvidia control panel which used to show me the games compatible with Nvidia and its screenshots+info about my system+shield etc. is gone. How to fix this?

Thanks

Talk to the hand!!!
Download the drivers manually from the geforce website and select "perform clean install" option while installing.

Is this the right one?

My system has a 940M Nvidia card. And will it bring back the control panel which showed games installed which are compatible with Nvidia? Moreover what is Nvidia GeForce Experience?

Yes that is the right one. But it probably contains the older geforce experience. You will have to download the new GE separately.

Seems to be right. Geforce Experience is the control panel that you are talking about.

It prompts for upgrading to GE 3.0 when you are on GE 2.0. But I wouldn't recommend upgrading to the new GE 3.0. Some games seems to be crashing when the shadow play overlay is activated. Just go with GE 2.0 bundled with the Driver download.

It hangs on checking for updates...
Also GE 3.0 is working fine for me. You can turn off the overlay.

IDK I got the prompt and it installed properly. The UI is definitely faster than the old one. However, there are some random crashes happening for me. Already contacted support for help. So far they got nothing. Hopefully, next update will fix my issues.

I updated the Nvidia driver via Device Manager and still the control panel(GeExperience) is not there. Should I download it separately and install it or do I need to download the drivers from here Drivers | GeForc and then the GeExperience from here Drivers | GeForc Well version 3.0.5.22 messed up mine system too, so I don't want to download it. Any stable older version?

I think you are getting confused.

Nvidia driver is required and mandatory. Download it manually from nvidia's site. Choose custom installation and uncheck GE.
Geforce experience is not required and optional thing. It's just a software with features. It's updating method is kind of messed up. So if you do want it download the latest version manually from the site.

I have downloaded both driver and GE Experience. Should I uninstall the previous one and then install it or should I update the driver file via Device Manager? The Ge Experience should be installed after installing the drivers, right?

install GeExp first. Then let it take care of the driver updates

Installed. This version prompted me to log in, Google wasn't able to log me in so I created a Nvidia account. Anyways this version does not show screenshots from the found games. The previous version used to show screenshots from games and gave info like shadow quality improved, same pedestrians not in game and stuff. Any fix for this? Also GeXp is telling me to download an update, I have already downloaded the setup for that update. Can I install from the setup as my net speed is not that good. If yes then should I uninstall the older version first?

It asked me to update the driver immediately after I installed the new GeExp. So i will also suggest same, no need to uninstall first. SInce you said your net speed is slow better update this in night, start the update before goin to bed.
and sorry, i dont use GeExp for anything apart from updating the driver and seeing the optimized settings for the games. So i have no knowledge about screenshot thing. You can ask people who are owning nVidia cards

Never used GE for screenshots. Steam takes care of that. Only used GE for looking at optimization settings and shadowplay. Both are there in the new GE.

I updated the drivers via GE, it has the latest version now. What exactly is shadow play? With the new update the resolution of GTA V set by GE was 1024x768 I had to change it to 1366x768 manually. Anyways now whenever I am playing the game or watching a cutscene the people/things who/which are in the background loose focus. I mean say Mike and Frank are talking/killing bad guys then the people/things far away will be kinda blurred. I think this is due to the update which has changed some setting. How to fix this?

And any help here-

shadow play is used to record games. Dont know about settings and all as I dont' record anything.
Check the optimized settings for the blurred thing. GeExp has detailed setting overview so i think you can find which property is causing this issue

Just explore the software. It's not really that hard.
Get Optimal Playable Settings, Automatically | GeForc

There is a settings button at about the top right corner. I set the "automatically optimize all games" off. I just use it to look for suggested settings and set it manually.
