Need of this thread:
We had following threads:
1. Flipkart Discussion, and
2. Section where you can post Positive or Negative experience on Online shopping

Hence the need of a thread where general discussions can be had (right now for all shopping sites except Flipkart). So post general discussions for sites except Flipkart here.

Anyway, I wanted to share my experience about purchase of eHDD from Amazon.in. I ordered two products from Amazon.in:
1. WD Elements 2 TB eHDD
2. A carry case for the same

The delivery was made under 3 days so that is commendable. But I received the two items in a single package with no bubble wrap. :| I didn't appreciate it much. Here are some pics:

The eHDD seems to be working fine, but I am disappointed by the fact that Amazon.in thinks a thing like eHDD don't need solid packing?

Do you guys think bubble wrap was unnecessary? Just want to hear comments.

So, in the end there were two things that shocked me:
1. No bubble wrap in eHDD packaging
2. Small size of the 2 TB eHDD, just fits in my palm!!

Congrats!
How could the seller even dare to ship an item like External HDD without bubble wrap! Very poor packaging indeed.

1. ALWAYS Bubble wrap is necessary for such sensitive devices.. Just post your grudge and also on behalf of all of us here on their website at the reviews section.
Very callous type of packaging.
2. Great feature!!!! So amazingly fit for ultra mobility functioning.

So I just got this package delivered to me via Amazon.in. While package reached me fine today morning safely (more than safely actually) the experience left me a bitter taste in the mouth. Here's what happened:

I ordered one lip balm on behalf of my sis on Thursday and it was to be delivered by Amazon Transportation Services, which I think is a courier service directly controlled by Amazon.in like Ekart Logistics is managed by Flipkart.

In the morning of Saturday I got a call from the delivery boy at 9 am. I was still in bed, cause you know, it's weekend, and I watched a few episodes of Arrow the late night. So here he asked me where my home was and said that he would be arriving today. I thought maybe I should get up from the sweet bed now, cause I should be prepared to take the delivery.

I headed downstairs minding my steps and while in half asleep mode, walking like a drunkard. Brushed my teeth and put on a few splashes of water on my face, when I realized my phone was ringing. Before I could check the phone my dad who was on the front gate of the house saw the salesman and I came out from the house.

There the salesman goes ballistic and says to me.. "Why don't you pick up the phone.. you should pick up the phone.. I Called like 4-5 times.." So I said, "clam down bro" and checked the phone. Sure he had 3 missed calls including the last call which I was not able to even check. Then he starts to tell how his employer doesn't like the idea of being late even for 10 min and how he would be answerable to them if he does become late. I said, "calm down bro" and then he starts to scrambling his santa bag for my package. He couldn't find it after 5 min of searching. I told him that the package must be very small since it's a just a lip balm. So he was searching for a small package. There were about 30 package in his bag and the guy couldn't find my package.

I told him to bring his santa bag inside the house and search calmly. He followed. Finally when we did able to find it we were dumbfounded. The size of the package was bigger than than what is used to pack mobiles. A big a$$ mobile that is. Later when I opened the package I saw big bubble wrap with the product down below. The product just needed a single sheet of small bubble wrap with a box about 30% of the box which they packed in. A packaging strategy of Amazon that I can never completely understand. It doesn't depend on the product, neither it does on the price of the product. Last year when I ordered a 14k processor from Amazon.com. And the packaging disappointed me. I also ordered a 1 TB WD HDD from Amazon.in, the package still disappointed me.

Anyway, coming back to the delivery boy who delivered today, he also complained to me that the package wasn't small. So excuse me, how the hell I was suppose to know how Amazon.in packed it? Then he attempted to take my signature on his crappy Samsung android. I said crappy since it was not working. He hit the phone and tried to make it come to life. Didn't work. I told him "calm down bro" and suggested to press home button and re launch the amazon application. He did. It worked and then we were done.
But before he left, he also cribbed about how this area (where I live) is worst to deliver package. How he can't find the addresses. How nice. Was it suppose to make me feel any better?

Well, all those times I said to him "calm down bro" I wasn't saying that out aloud but the way I found this man so frustrated made me feel so bad about him. It's in sharp contrast to the delivery boys of Flipkart who I never see enraged. Even when it was to replace a tempered glass that was probably my fault for not applying it correctly.

Amazon.in maybe a good company outside, but I think in India it can't gain much popularity unless they can keep their employers from top of the chain to delivery boys away from frustration. And yea.. also work upon packaging. Cause that sucks.

Aah.. I feel better now that I have shared this.
