Yes, the battery life on stock jellybean rom is amazing. I will be switching to a custom rom tonight to increase it further.

Although its IPS, the screen is not vivid. You will feel as if someone reduced the saturation of the screen [its AMOLED's fault for making every thing look so colorful, we forgot what natural colors look like]
The screen is sharp and touch is very responsive. with stock JB4.2 I got antutu score of 13768 and after upgrading to KK4.4.2 I got the score of 134XX which is not really visible.
Chrome browser is default and you do not get webkit with this, but chrome is optimized for it so runs smoother than any other browser.
I don't play games so no idea about that.
I streamed 9GB MKV over wifi windows share along with MX player and the video played smooth without a glitch in software mode and HW+, HW mode could not produce sound.
Its a corning glass so no need for a screen protector. Its corning but not corning gorilla glass!

My S4 has a Corning Gorilla Draculla or whatever that glass is, and I was just like you, so confident, that it won't scratch, and I use very carefully, especially when it's about screen, even the tiniest bit of spot bothers me to no limit, and after 3 months there were at least 2 or 3 scratches on it.
