Spring for Galaxy S5 from iPhone5?

Only thing I will miss from S4 will be the LED notifier and a call recording app. And maybe a Sony sensor, however heard good things about the Zeiss one. Lack of SD card is no biggie for me at all, people just trying to create a nuisance, Android and iOS fanboys especially

ikr btw if u get a lumia with glance screen support, u wont miss the LED notification light as such
the zeiss sensor is better than the sony one. sony one isnt bad but the newer ones lack flash and zeiss has better low light imaging
plus for photography enthusiasts, it has full compatibility with go pro cams and the nokia (pro) cam app is simply amazing and allows u to tweak nearly everything
plus it has photosynth,which google copied to make photosphere(360 panaroma)
im sure ull love the switch!!
lack of sd isnt really a biggie as such, i have 32gb already filled up and my internal memory is free so i will have to wait for a phone with sd card as well otherwise for now my 720s and 820 are great!!

Hi, I have the iPhone5 and I love what I have, but the S5 seems pretty awesome too. I really love iPhone, but in the meantime I don’t want to get too attached to it, so I am thinking of springing for a phone with the capability of replacing extended batteries. I do feel more secure holding my friend’s S4 with his mpj extended battery.
To be fair, is it worth the switch from iPhone5 to Galaxy S5?

S5 isn't a good phone at all imho, you can a LG G2 at 38k now(32GB), or even less locally if you can let go of the free case. HTC M8 is another good option. If you can tolerate large size you can also opt for LG G Pro 2 as it will launch soon. Xperia Z2 is coming as well.

not really, apps get updates quite often on windows store and ive seen many apps run better on my 720 than on my ipads or my droids eg the FB app which sucks on every platform and is plagued with bugs works considerable better if not perfect on my 720

I agree that G2 is better than S5 when VFM is considered................ S4 was good, according to me, but S5 failed to impress me.

Companies are just going on increasing screen size, don't know why, atleast Sony showed the courtesy to launch a flagship spec mini device, when compared to their big Z, Z1 & Z2

Moving from iPhone to S5 will be a big jump in terms of size of device (S5 is bigger than S4). You can forget using phone with one hand. Xperia Z1C might be better for you (it's much better than iPhone 5 for sure, even better than 5S, except for fingerprint scanner)

Note: These are my personal opinions...... I'm an Android fan..... Don't want to start a war on iOS vs Android here

Well at current price ( I mean even at 41k S5 is overpriced), but if the videos are true then Samsung learnt something and the build quality seems WAY better than S4's.

The design still sucks anyway, however that's a personal preference, some people tend to go for round shaped corners, while I hate them.

Maybe OP has gone away with our various comments which might have confused him in no extent Anyway, just to give opinion from a completely neutral point of view, if he likes his iPhone 5, he should stick with it. If he has an update 'itch' like me and money no problem, then S5, if Android only. And Lumia 930 if into Windows Phone. That's it. LG G2 is a real VFM, but again personally I won't ever buy an LG, absolute no offence to anyone. But whichever of the above three, or even some more, they are a big 'upgrade' for me from an iP5.

still samsung has gone down on quality after GS2 itself,im gonna stay away from samsung from now on
i have owned so many samsung products but recently all of them have issues
