1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')

Ans: Gaming - Diablo III, COD 4, GTA V and latest games
Virtualization - Would be running 3 to 4 Linux VMs

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: 60K [Can stretch it a bit, if a good alternate is available]

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: No

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Windows 7 Ultimate

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: 1 TB [Will expand as requirements increase]

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: No [Already have a HD Monitor]

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: Mouse, Kbd, UPS and Speakers

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: < 5 days

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: Assembler

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Coimbatore

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans:

I think this is the second thread I am creating in a matter of 2 weeks, but i am ready to buy the system now.

And I have settled for Intel i7 and not AMD.

My config is,

Intel® Core™ i7-4770 Processor (8M Cache, up to 3.90 GHz) - 21950
Intel DB85FL 4th Generation Motherboard - 6990
Sapphire AMD/ATI HD 7770 1 GB GDDR5 Graphics Card - 8500
G.Skill RipjawsX DDR3 8 GB (1 x 8 GB) PC RAM (F3-12800CL10S-8GBXL) - 6928
WD Blue WD10EZEX 1 TB Internal Hard Drive - 4184
Seasonic S12II 620 Watts PSU - 5950
Corsair 400R Mid Tower Cabinet - 6035

I chose ripjaws over vengeance since i heard it has good heat release and its smaller.
I guess both are same in performance, but i will be adding 3 more 8gb ram's soon.
I need the space , if the cabinet can accommodate 4 corsair vengeance ram's , i will take it.

I live in a bit dusted area so i chose Corsair 400R.

Please suggest me a good GPU +or- 2K, if a better one can be got. I will replace it next year end with a high end GPU , so I chose higher PSU and Cabinet. Let me know if this is good or I should go for more. I dont want to rebuy PSU and Cabinet next year.

I hope Sapphire AMD/ATI HD 7770 1 GB GDDR5 Graphics Card has HDMI out and I can also connect to a 32 inch full hd led tv for gaming and get a good quality. Can it play all games at high resolution ?

Please suggest me any other alternatives, changes, etc.

^^ Pretty Nice config. The combination of CPU + GPU is just perfect for any kind of games @ full hd resolution as well as CPU intensive works.

Being an engineering student: 'b' is bit and 'B' is byte. 'W' is Watt and 'w' is an alphabet from English language. Just my 2 cents.

+1 for this...

its OK, HDD and ram are rarely specified by "X" bit.

Get gtx 650ti boost instead of amp

In Gaming i7 = i5 no difference instead get i5 and get better gpu

antec x1 cabi does not have cable management

Nzxt source 210 is reccommended

Gigabyte h87 d3h mobo @7.3k is enough

i am choosing i7 for its hyper-threading capabilities which is reqd. for me.

i will take Nzxt source 210.

actually chose asus h87 over gigabyte h87, since i heard that gigabyte is having issues and better build quality of asus. since i will retain the CPU+MB and will shuffle the others in future ...

chose gtx 650ti amp over gtx 650ti boost since i wont be using SLI. And core clock & memory clock are faster in amp edition. does amp edition have any issues ?

also gtx 650 ti amp has 2 HDMI ports ...

changed config,

Intel® Core™ i7-4770 Processor (8M Cache, up to 3.90 GHz) - 21950
Asus H87-PRO Motherboard - 10000
ZOTAC GeForce GTX 650 Ti AMP! Edition - 12000
Corsair vengance 8gb ram 1600mhz - 5200
WD Blue WD10EZEX 1 TB Internal Hard Drive - 4184
Seasonic S12II 520 Watts PSU - 4800
Nzxt source 210 - 3150

do not judge gpu by specs. gtx 650ti boost is faster than gtx 650 amp./

Gigabyte have good quality.there is no such issues

are you going to upgrade gpu in future ?

shankar, I am changing your preferred config a bit:-

Intel® Core™ i7-4770 Processor @ 21K (smcinternational.in)
Gigabyte H87M-D3H @ 7.7K
Sapphire R7 270X 2GB GDDR5 Dual X GPU @ 15.6K (mdcomputers.in)
Kingston HyperX Blue (KHX1600C10D3B1/8G) 8GB X 1 1600 MHz DDR3 @ 4.7K (Flipkart.com)
WD Blue WD10EZEX 1 TB Internal Hard Drive - 4.184
Seasonic S12II 520 Watts PSU - 4.5K (Theitwares.com)
Nzxt source 210 - 3.15K

Total: 57.65K. Here I have added a little cheaper Motherboard and added a better GPU which should be used while gaming at 1080P resolution. R7 270X is far better than a 650 Ti Boost card. Also 10K for a non-overclocking motherboard is little on the higher side and a little cheaper motherboard will do far better. Also suggested you Kingston HyperX Blue Ram is which is good amount cheaper than the Corsair Vengeance and performs slightly better.

i7 is pure waste of money in gaming get i5-4570 instead and get more better graphics Like R9 280X....
that will increase gaming performence bu huge margin..
no need to say i5 is capable for other thing you need to with this system.

buddy the game you have mentioned need a lot graphic power(not much processor juice) all you need for improved gaming is good graphics card...

He is also asking for Virtualization and planning to run multiple Linux distro on the rig. So a more powerful Processor with more simultaneous thread processing capability is definitely going to help. Otherwise, he can opt for FX-8350 which will offer good balance among his different type of works.
