Problem in Windows 7

Dear all,

I use a laptop HP ProBook 4530s with Windows 7 Home Premium (Service Pack 1 installed) (Genuine Windows).

Now the problem I am facing from past few days is that, while working, all of a sudden, the Caps lock is reversed. As in, if it is ON, everything I type is in small, if it is OFF, what I type is in Capitals!! More, I can not type primary characters like 1,2,3 from the keypad.. it instead types !@# etc.... It acts whole time as if I have the CTRL key pressed the whole time. Selecting everything I browse through through. Whenever, in any window, I click on something, it opens in a new window by default. Even if I try to click on minimized programme, it opens a new window. I have to restart my laptop to get rid if this.

Is this a known issue? Has it anything to do with windows 7? Is it a virus?

Anybody who can help please? It is driving me crazy.

I have AVIRA free AV version 13 (2013). and have performed a full scan but came up with nothing.

Press the function button [fn] and the end button together. See if it helps.

If it does not help try the function and num lock key.

It probably is a HELD shift key. try banging the shift keys lightly or something, might even want to try that with the ctrl keys. See if that helps.

u can confirm if its a virus problem or not by connecting an external keyboard & test :-D

I do not have the warranty card with me at the moment.. and this lappy was purchased in Africa, gifted in India and I am in Germany the moment!! :p lets see if I can contact them without having to pay!!!

Press the function button [fn] and the end button together. See if it helps.

If it does not help try the function and num lock key.

I will sure try it... :) will let you know if that works

Well, dont have an external keyboard!!! if the problem persists.. might but one.. those are cheaper here in Germany and anyway I have scholarship moey ;)

Instead of banging keys try banging your lappy on the floor. See if that helps.
