LED Monitor

Right off the assembly line
I am looking for a LED monitor in 8K range and I have shortlisted these four monitors in order of preference:

Dell ST2220M
Benq G2222HDL
Acer S221HQL
AOC I2251FWE(IPS but with RT 14ms)

Until yesterday night the AOC one was my first choice but I did some calculations this morning and seems like this is not an ideal choice. I play some fast games like Street Fighter x Tekken which gives me over 100fps. Now 14ms would mean 1/0.014=71.5fps(approx.). This has made me look out for other brands and models.

That is why I am asking you guys, what would be my best choice? I don't care about HDMI. If I wanted to connect PS3\XBOX360(I don't have one) then my first choice is my Sony Bravia. DVI is perfectly fine with me. What I want is vibrant color and nice viewing angle with low RT. What would you guys suggest.

I watched some videos of BENQ model and the color and viewing angle were not up to the mark. I can't be sure cause I haven't seen it physically. So if you wanna suggest it then you better have seen it too

I hope you can help me fast cause I wanna make a purchase before Diwali.

P.S.: Gonna buy the monitor from Nehru Place.

Just a quick question, do you absolutely need 100 fps? Generally speaking, most people can't notice a difference in frame rates if it's above 60 fps.

LG WRman Sherlock, out!

Thats the problem right there. I don't know what to expect. Some people say that they experience ghosting issues in this type of scenario. Others say that there are no issues like that since human eye work at 24fps(which is strictly applicable to Movies\TV). So a game running at three times fps should be fine. Due to all this doubt I created this thread. I was hoping that somebody here might give me advice.

I have added two other monitors to the list.

LG E2241
AOC 2243FW2K

while removing BENQ one because of these two videos:

BenQ G2222HDL small preview - YouTube

BenQ G2222HDL LED Monitor - YouTube

So now the updated list is:

Dell ST2220M
AOC I2251FWE(IPS but with RT 14ms)
LG E2241
AOC 2243FW2K
Acer S221HQL

Still my first preference is Dell. Hoping to get some personal opinion so that I can finalize on one of them.

I agree with LGWRSherlock. IMO, you won't be gaming @ 100 fps all the time. If that's the case, you need to buy a monitor from professional series >20K.
As far as suggesting one is concerned, keeping in mind that one should have seen/used it, I can only suggest AOC 2243FW2K which has a response time of 2ms and retails @ 8600 @ Cost To Cost, Nehru Place.

I've used the AOC 2243FW2K. It looks great with thin bezel and is ultra thin @ 1.2 cms, good colour reproduction as well as viewing angles (~170 degrees), I've tested it. The cons are that the stand feels cheap if the monitor is placed on table top, but has a solid VESA mount using which, you can mount it on the wall as well. The other negative point, I think is that it's power supply adapter is an external one, which adds to the clutter.

Actually the calculation is kind of incomplete. I posted a simple calculation just to show the issue. The rest of calculation involves resolution and thats where fps is gonna drop and hence response time won't hinder the performance. The thing is, I play games on my CRT on resolution of 1024*768 so now when I will switch to Full HD or even mHD, the fps would drop. That leaves me with something around 80fps so those games will still run fine.

@Cyberkid: Why did you opted for AOC 2243FW2K and not AOC I2251FWE? HDMI support?

I suppose Acer is out of question now too and LG is at the bottom.

Now it is between Dell and AOC duo. More research on the way. Keep posting your precious experience people.
