Use any download managers, like IDM,DAP,etc. IMO use IDM, its best. But one thing you should keep in mind, the site from which you're downloading must support resuming.

Yes IDM is the best but it'll not resume rapidshare, megaupload..etc Downloads.

Internet Download Manager: the fastest download accelerator

But this a paid software. For free software, try Free Download Manager, and jDownloader.

Or you can use torrent to download any software which are Huge, but popular. If the number of seeders is large, it can give you great speeds.

I have the exact opposite experience, although most of the torrents I download have very less seed. ;)

:D I get more or exactly same speeds, but torrent downloading is much more easy so i prefer it. 45 mins mein film download!! :D :) Till today i have only 1 experience of less/no seeds. I had found a 90.90 GB porn torrent :p :D but it didn't worked :x. But i was neither less, I searched and downloaded all the individual videos by their "filename" from .torrent file!! ;):hyper::toast:

if the link is from majorgeeks or filehippo, most likely you can't resume download once it gets disconnected. even if it allows, most of the time D/M keeps trying & then drops it. check link that point to the author's site directly.

next for download managers, give orbit a try. so far found it the best when downloading from GPRS or really slow connections. IDM is paid but i think trial is available. don't try DAP. it is an ad machine. more ads less download.

I get avg speed of torrents as max. 25 KBps whereas in Direct Downloads 35-36 KBps..

Well, is there any download managers supporting sites like Fileserve, Filesonic, bitshare, etc////??????

^^ IMO, Almost every download manager supports every site.
Download mangers just grabs the downloads from the browser.

Also, you can use, extensions like SkipScreen in Mozilla to automate downloading from sites like Rapidshare and Megaupload.

Ok thanks..just got ORBIT and saw that it supports Fileserve, Megaupload etc.. This can be a good alternative to Torrents...

Hope there is no possibility of data loss through this if there is disconnection/power cuts????????? :???:

^^ Oh! You WILL experience a data loss, in case of power cuts or disconnections, since those sites doesn't support resuming broken downloads!

Mediafire and Megaupload does for sure. If the link gets expired, get a fresh link from your browser, copy and paste it to your DM, and it will resume from where it has left.
