And now i have to buy another PC for my elder brother for office use only .. for accounts , playing music, movies and avrg gaming .. I thot instead of opening another thread ill continue this thread. Budget is restricted to max 23k . the config which is there in my mind is

Athlon II X2 250 3.0GHz @ ??
Biostar TA785G3 / Biostar TA785G3 HD @ ?? ( Difrence ??)
Transcend 2GB DDR3 1333MHz C9 @ 2.7k
WD 500GB @ 2.3k
Samsung p1950W @ ??
apc 550v or any better one around 1k ?
altec lansing 2.1 bxr series

And for cabinet

Actually i am planin to get NZXT gamma for me from chennai and give my cm elite 310 to my bro for above config.

PSU any 500W low end bundled

Please Also suggest a good 120mm blue led silent fans .. I'm planing to buy 2 fans. My cabinet already has one fan at rear. I think One LED fan is sufficient at rear side ryt ?

try searching ECS A785GM-M if you can get it, much better than biostar

---------- Post added at 02:36 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:35 AM ----------

gigabyte 460W PSU will suffice, do not go for low grade 500W PSU which are good of nothing.

---------- Post added at 02:44 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:36 AM ----------

for fans look for coolermaster or scythe as per your budget.
this one is good too Silverstone FM 121 120mm @ 110 CFM
Xigmatek XLF-F1254 - check this one if you can get this it is very nice fan

ECS A785GM-M features are good .. but I dont think it has side port memory .. And what is the cost of this board ? It should fir in my budget :).

Is that PSU really required for this configuration ? Im not going to add any graphics card in future. It is for office use and light gaming and multimedia use.

And those fans are for my PC ( c my signature). Thanks for the links

I bought bxr1221 for 1k incl tax .. how much craetive a300 costs ?

Thanks

i have a 300W psu on my intel pentium D 820, havent added gpu anytime, but I added HDD, now running 2 of them in the system, wish to add more but cant would not like to over-burden the PSU, it is not that we just need a gpu to increase power consumtion all other components too add up. and when a good psu does not cost that much why not take it.
for case fans, scythe are the best.

add HDD having single platter or if you buy, buy Samsung F2 Eco green (5400RPM) or F3 ECO (7200RPM). both are single platters & are second to WDC Green in (lowest) power consumption.

its good. well i not know on what basis peoples judge boards when they tell a particular board is crap. biostar is pure VFM. just not know more about their service. also a board if handled well, i mean no OC. & keeping it cool, will almost never need any RMA.

if you find the ECS, you may buy it instead. it not got sideport but the board is just fantastic quality. pure enthusiast level. i will say worth the 4.8k pricetag. but the availability wil give anyone a hard time.

well i'll say a PSU from good reputed manufacturer is a very good "addon" but a cheap 400W psu is not bad at all. considering the parts. it won't consume lots of power. so a iBall 400W is good enough for the task.

Processor: Athlon II X3 425 2.7GHz
Motherboard: Biostar TA785GE 128M.
Ram: A-data 2GB DDR2 800MHz (single stick)
Hard Disk: Western Digital 500Gb Caviar Blue
Optical Drives: LG 22X SATA DVD-RW
Cabinet: Zebronics Bijli
Monitor: BenQ G2020HD 20" LCD Monitor or any other 20" monitor.
Keyboard Mouse: Logitech Internet Pro Desktop
Speaker: cheap speakers.
UPS: APC 550va

total: 24.4k. & it'll perform very well for a 25k pc. to reduce cost simply get a cheaper mobo based on 785G & a cheaper UPS. getting 320Gb HDD is pure loss.

:) just my nature buddy. well i not live delhi still prices should be like this:

Processor: Athlon II X3 425 2.7GHz ---> 3.8k
Motherboard: Biostar TA785GE 128M ---> 3.8k
Ram: A-data 2GB DDR2 800MHz (single stick) ---> below 2k, surely.
Hard Disk: Western Digital 500Gb Caviar Blue ---> 2.2k or Samsung F3.
Optical Drives: LG 22X SATA DVD-RW ---> 1.1k
Cabinet: Zebronics Bijli ---> 1.5-1.7k.
Monitor: BenQ G2020HD 20" LCD Monitor or any other 20" monitor. ---> depends on dealer.
Keyboard Mouse: Logitech Internet Pro Desktop ---> 600 bucks.
Speaker: cheap speakers ---> depends on u :razz:
UPS: APC 550va ---> below 2k.

sorry, no idea on this monitor stuff. well 1 nice piece of incident:

one of my closest friend was downloading stuffs through GPRS to his PC. he switch off his monitor & went to the corresponding room. after 5min he got a burning smell. he returned to his room & to his rather shock (so was i) his LG CRT monitor was in flames, as high as 5 feets. except the screen section whole monitor + his table partially got damaged. i mean to say, theres nothing left of his monitor except the screen & that also pitch black. his cpu + 1 week old Nokia E63 safe.

But i feel he should go with ddr3 ..

if i push in a DDR3 mobo + DDR3 ram kit, he'll have to pay more than 26k inc tax. maybe 27k. also the PC won't be used for gaming, so 2Gb DDR2 should suffix for life of pc. may add 2Gb more after 1yr or so.

thanks:smile:
and yes this system will not be used for gaming since my 9 year old cousin would be using it
but suppose if i opt for 17-18 inch monitor , then can i go for that combo?
i mean ddr3+mobo
and oh forgot!what about power supply?

no problem. :smile:

well if you opt for 17" better get SQUARE type. not diagonal type. such small screen at 17", it sucks.

& for PSU, the bundled PSU is good. cause i not think the pc will consume lot of power. if DDR3, than may get the Biostar TA785G3 HD (plz avoid the nonsense G3+) & 2Gb stick of Transcend (not sure if A-data DDR3 sticks val).
