Although HD4890 is a lot faster than HD5770(HD5770~GTX260) but HD5770 has full DX11 support, something lacking in HD4890(DX10.1), so the choice is obvious, get HD5770 if you want it to be future proof, however if you are a frequent upgrader get HD4890 as its more beefy, then @ 2010 get HD5xxx/GT3xx series as their prices fall due to competition.

Hey Guys...
Can u please help me in getting My PC upgraded....

Presently I am Using Mercury PNMCP73V motherboard with integrated NVidia Graphics card n other connectivity ports.
A Core2Duo 2.5GHz processor with a 2GB Kingston Ram

I upgraded my computer some 8-9 months back to this config. just to play GRID but was very unfortunate that the game still doesnot runs smoothly...
It seems like that there is a Problem with the speed differences in G.Card nd RAM

now I wish to Upgrade it so that I can get that speed which I need...A Rocket PC.. :p

Can u please suggest me A good/Best Motherboard and a G.Card(512MB will do)

My Bugget is not so high..I can give 2-3k max. for motherboard nd same amount for card.

what I want is A Good...infact a Best Responce PC.

Problem with the speed differences in G.Card nd RAM???

WTH does this mean?

anyways, 3k for mobo and 3k for gpu will not get you much increase in FPS.

You may get a G31 based mobo and 9500GT GPU. look for Gigabyte/ASUS mobo and Palit GPU. As i said, it won't be much of an increase.

@Abhi, mention your whole config, ram(ddr2? Mhz?),PSU(make? watt? model?), proccy medel no. etc. etc. You assumed yourself that speed difference :p , but we don't know what you are talking about :) ..their are many processors with 2.5 GHz, and great difference between them, so model no.? budget?? min, max?

I guess you have E5200 C2D proccy, for your budget(~6k) their is no need to upgrade the proccy and mobo.. you never got good results simply because you didn't have gfx card.. LOL even todays fastest processor alone with MOBO's IGP won't be able to run any new game smoothly. so all you have to do is get a new GFX card. palit/saphire 4670 ~ 4.3k is best suited in your budget. Btw if your have local 500 wala PSU(SMPS) then try to get a new PSU(eg. Zebby pro etc. etc.) , thought a 450-500 watt generic PSU will do, but a good PSU is always recommended for the safety of the all components in your PC.

I said smoothly.. and it is assumed that you not on the lowest settings :) (you buy a fastest proccy for gaming and wanna play on lowest?? ) and still new upcoming games will demand more power, their are games which are not even playable on low end gfx card at lowest settings... even current amd 785g/790g chipsets are almost equivalent to Nvidia 8500gt. they are not meant for gaming :) ..

^Errr... It will only make a difference if you have a 22" monitor. On my 17" CRT, I play all games except GTA4 with IGP (HD3300) @ 800x600 or 1024x768 [except crysis] with medium details. With the new 785G chipset, HD4200 on board is even better. Not for hardcore gamers, but here the budget is such that OP will hardly be able to get any "gaming" card. The IGP is great for casual gamers who just wanna play games smoothly. For serious gamers, a good card is the way to go.

hi guys....
Going for HD5770.... Still have a small doubt... Since some of works involve CAD ... Will 5770 be of any use ???? . . . Currently running at crappy 6200 LE :(. .
5770 will be fine right ???. . If not pl suggest any Quadro of Firepro card for the range ~170$ . .

Thanks in advance

Quadro FX580 with GDDR3 memory should be availalbe for some 180$.

ATI FireGL V3600 GDDR2 should be avialble inside $170.

^^ Thanks m8 .... :)
I just looked at the specs ... Couldn't find where this workstation gfx card is ahead of hd5770 :) ?? So what does workstation graphics makes so special from desktop cards ??? Any special drivers ??? . . .

My Ram Is at present Transant 667Mhz...Due to some warr. problem my assembler is providing me a Kingston 2GB 800Mhz.
I m Using A Intel C2D Proccy E7200 with 1066Mhz FSB.
Motherbord of Mercury PNMCP73V motherboard with integrated NVidia Graphics card n other connectivity ports too of Nvidia made..
PSU is of Mron P-4 with 400Watt supply

Regarding the Speed Difference I'm Feeling like the Integrated Gfx Card is working at a lower frequency,
running Game Like GRID even at Lower quality didnt works fine.

My Budget is not a big one...
Max just for Gfx crd is 4k+-500rs.

One more thing...My Mobo supports RAM of 800MHz by overclocking...
Should I go with an 800Mhz Ram or stick to a 667 one.

when it comes to gaming, fps is important
when it comes to graphics desgin, speed and perfection is important.

HD5770 rocks gaming but when it comes to 3D rendering, it will fall flat before workstation graphics cards.

Check shadow_29's post (no. 2 in that page) and you will understand the difference
