Yes, Chandni Chowk street, its the narrow lane in which Vedant Computers is present, keep moving along the lane, after passing Sabir Hotel you'll see lots of small footpath stores selling HW stuff, you'll also notice a few small HW shops there, keep asking price, many shops have it, they may quote 140,150/- at start, keep burgaining, you can get it for as low as 90/-, if you're good enough.

PS-When buying check if both the base and the extender has a good magnet in it to hold the screws or they will come off, after that check if the kit contains ALL the screws, check for any defects in the case, I actually had to inspect 3 sets to get a descent one. Shopkeepers will try to fool you, so watch out.

Does anyone know of any vendor in Kolkata from whom I can get any one of the monitors BenQ FP241WZ, or LG L246Wp or any other 24 inch *-PVA, MVA or *-IPS panel within 30K. Vendor suggestions for CPU Cooler Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme 1366 RT will be also very much appreciated. CoolerMaster V8 is available though.

IPS panels are hard to get in Kolkata, check for Dell ones, shops to try are Vedant, M.D, Arihant Infotech(Near Sabir Hotel), I once asked a guy in Eastern Logica about an IPS, he thought I was mad that I would waste 15k on a 17" when I get a 24" @ 12k(a few days back), try there.

Thank you very much for both the above posts, tkin. Not only *-IPS panels but any really high-end component is hard to come by in Kolkata. I think we shall have to live with this problem for ever.
As for the monitor, Vedant is getting for me most of the components for my new rig, but they could not get me a monitor of my choice, except that they arranged for an HP LP2475W (with H-IPS panel) for Rs. 44K (Ouch!), which I could not afford. I know MD and Arihant shops and shall inquire there as suggested by you. I have also seen Eastern Logica somewhere but just cannot remember where. However, I have an address list for vendors somewhere and I shall look that up. Where do you suggest I look for a Dell Non-TN panel?
As for the CPU cooler, I did inquire at Tirupati Enterprise but they do not have the model I am looking for.

Called Dell India today for vendor contact info and I am sorry to report that they said that they are not selling 24 inch UltraSharp any more. According to them, only models that they are selling now are 19 inch ones.

I found Starcomp to be cheaper than Vedant this time. For example

Resolution 1366 X 768 i use GTX 260

The card is more than enough !

the DVD rip axxo videos are full @ this resolution - I am happy i can play all the games not even a single exception game @ maxed out Full resolution
