Zenfone 5 or Moto G

Want to gift a phone to my mom. Confused between Moto G 8GB of 10.5k and Asus Zenfone 5 8GB model that is of 10k. Use is quite simple and basically for call, chat and using essential phone apps.

Zenphone reportedly has some issues with its screen, therefore moto g seems like a better choice.

GAMING IS NOT A CRIME
but zenfone 5 has 2GB RAM and better camera?

Bro, for medium/average use 1GB ram is more than enough. Because its a gift to your Mom and Mom is using mainly for chatting and other stuffs, 1gb ram is enough.
And about camera, moto g has average camera. For a person like a Mom(women) guessing photography in a mobile is not a main concern. Btw HDR is moto G is delivering a great result.
I suggest you to go with Moto G. Since Mom is using it guessing she wouldn't install games. :D So 8gb would be just fine.

Moto G for Latest Android Version

Zenfone for expandable memory, better camera, more ram, better build...

I heard a news of a new Moto G. What will be the price of that?

A bit more than Moto G, but its just an upgrade in terms of screen size (5"now), so not exactly an upgrade

Zenfone 5 vs Moto G ??? It depends on screen size & memory requirement

Zenfone 5 is a great phone, two of my friends have it........ Same is the case with Moto G, but seeing the price of Zenfone 5, it's clearly a better option than Moto G unless you want a smalle size phone

What about getting Android L in Zenfone 5 in future? Motorola confirmed to provide Android L in their Moto G phones.

I don't know if ASUS will provide android L but it surely provide much more VFM with better camera,Expandable memory, more ram even chipset used by Zenphone 5 is superior than moto G . My suggestion go for Zenphone 5, moto G is old now and android L will be last update.

I read many people rated 1 star have written comment where their phone gets dead after 1-2 days and have no service centre of Asus mobiles.

go for Moto G since Asus is still no way near the track record of updating the Android version very soon.

dont buy moto g wait for g2 which is launching on september 3

the price will be less than 14k for the 16 gb version as it is hardly any upgrade apart from camera and screen

G2 has bigger display, that's the only upgrade. Better get Moto G or zenfone 5

Flipkart is already showing signs of winding up the sale of Moto G 16GB, in time for the Moto G2, so if your going to buy, you might want to hurry; else got to wait as next month has hoards of releases coming!!

moto G2 has 8 mp rear /2mp front camera and considering camera was the weakest area of Moto G its much better to get g2 since it will be available to buy in 15 days ( no delays this time ).. plus it will most likely have micro sd slot this time( my guess )

its a marginal upgrade though .. and indian launch has been set at 5 september

Use is quite simple and basically for call, chat and using essential phone apps.

Any phone can handle that and someone here is right that you don't need 2GB RAM to run a phone dialer(call), message app(chat) and essential apps(Camera, FM Radio, Browser, File Manager...)

Everything comes down to design preference and after sales. At the moment though, Zenfone dedicated service centres are fewer than Motorola's, just so you should know.
