Xp Unistallation Woes

I am using a dual OS win98se in c: and Xp proff in D:. My problem is, whenever Xp crash i'm for to format the entire d: drive partition loosing my important files n Movies .
Can anyone suggest me how to uninstall Xp without having to format the whole drive (taken into consideration that Xp crash deu to minor errors)?

oh format whole the hard drive if you don't mind

and reinstall the win xp and 98 by reading the topic in thinkdigit forum (search for it it must be here i have seen it)

well there is no sureshot method to uninstall XP..but what u can do is boot from another OS ..go to Xp drive ...delete the Documents and settings , program files and Windows Folder..also select show hidden files and delete recycled and system volume information folders also..and install Xp again
