hi guys..

i d/l XIII game frm a site.. heard its a wonderful game 2 play.. it took me 2 weeks 2 d/l.. finally when i installed its a french lang game.. all menus r in french.. and also all the menu works.. but when starting the game it hangs and only sound comes.. no video.. i tried 3D Analyze also and donno wat r the settings 2 use.. so same prob..

hv any 1 played this game.. My sys config is P4 2.4 Ghz.. Intel 845 MB, 256 Ram.. help needed..

Buy this months issue of CHIP magazine. It has a demo of XIII (in english).

What you are talking about is the Boonty version of the game. It's mostly found on the illegal warez sites and no matter how much you pound your head, you won't be able to run the game. Besides, it's downright illegal to ask about a pirated game here.

You can do much better then that. Try the demo and if you like it, you can always go for the original version. At 300/-, its a steal. Atleast that what I did. I am a fan of this game and when I recently saw the game at this price point at the local Planet M, it was on offer you just can't refuse!

I guess I didn't read properly. He has downloaded a warez version of the game. I thought it was a demo version, hence the reply.

btw xiii for 300/- is not bad,but the 300 rs tag has appeared after more than one yr of the release of the game. if this was done erlier the company may have sold many more units.
if gta :sa comes for such reasonable price i will buy it on the same day of release and so will my many frnds but gta:sa will cost around 2500/- .so i doubt its high sales figure in India.

The buyers of such products are mostly non earning school/college students and its impossible for many to spend too much themselvs or convince their parents for buying a game for such high price(and it just not one game there are always new releasing) .they will buy u a educational book for same price but not a game.so something is to be done in this case , drop the prices to discourage piracy and increase sales imo.

Couldn't agree more with Tarey. Price drop would prove to be a boon for the sale of original games and a bane for piracy. Badri "Badjag" Narayan, SKOAR! editor once put it in simple words....Higher Prices = Low Sales and due to Low Sales = Higher Prices for better profit margins. A vicious cycle indeed!

@Tarey: Would I? Well lets see...I would have gone as far as 600/- as this one game that I have been dying to play. It also might depend upon how finacially sound I am when I get the game. Hope I am in good shape the day I run into an original copy of GTA:SA!

Good point you made tarey_g about the buyers of games: non-earning students. The situation in other countries such as the US is different as students work part time and usually earn enough for buying games on their own. They can work and use the money they get for buying games. As a result, even with $50 price tags, original games sell hundreds of thousands of copies (the good ones only ) there. But a price tag of anything above Rs. 1500 is almost unacceptable out here. But to get more people to buy games, the games have to be priced below the 1k mark. Somewhere around Rs. 750 would be a great price for games.

I did play the demo and it wasnt so bad! Looked and felt like a nice MaxPayne clone...but i guess its how enoo thought that ETM would be like the movie

I disagree ctrl_alt_del , i think u played the demo version of the game , the demo had irritating and jerky camera movements . when i played the demo i was disappointed

Yea I saw it today @Crossword but decided not to get it yet because I still have 4 games that I need to finish

AvP2, Myst, Riven, Myst III: Exile. The last three I bought coz the collectors' edition DVD set was for just $20 at Best Buy.

Dunno when I'll finish them. Hopefully that will happen before NFS:MW, Quake 4, etc. start rolling in

You sure about that? I have met guys who wouldn't even pay up that much for a software if they can get it for 50/-, or worse, can download it for free.

Heck, this pirated business has sunk so deep into our sub-conciousness, sofirmly embedded itself in our systems that when given with the option of a cheaply priced original software and an even cheaper pirated alternative, people will opt for the pirated piece.

May their tribe decrease.

Oh a six CD game like UT 04 would costs around 200 for a pirated vertion. So it would be definitely a steal if available for below 1k!!!!!

In most cases the originals is more irritating. for eg: HL2 has to be decrypted which takes upto 15 hrs in a dial up. nd if the connection fails?. Everything crapped.
The pirated comes in only 3CDs. just unzip nd play.No internet connection is needed at all.
So these game developers are making life harder to people whose buy the ORIGINALS. So pirated are always the better.

Lol aravind. The game developers need to adopt such measures simply because people pirate games so easily. Millions of dollars are invested in these games and they will do what they want to make sure they earn back all the money spent.

PS: But STEAM was definitely a bad move
