Big Byte Corp., official distributor of nvidia range of XFX cards, has dropped prices of its nvidia cards by as much as 15% to 20%.

With the onslaught of games by the biggies, such as Doom3 by id and Half Life 2 by Valve, Big Byte Corp has decided to reduce the prices of its nvidia cards. However, this drop in price is applicable to the FX5200 and the Geforce 4 series. This offering would give the value segment a tremendous boost in terms of price vs. performance.

The most impressive and cost effective card being offered is the Geforce 4 Ti4200 128MB for Rs.4900. This card is good enough to handle Doom 3 upto 40 fps in Medium Detail.

The 6800 GT is selling at a price of Rs.25,750 where as the Ultra 256MB counterpart costs a whopping Rs.33,750 but also comes with 5 free games. As far as the 6800 (non-ultra) goes, Big Byte has taken a conscious decision not to bring it in "as there is hardly any performance difference between the non-ultra and GT", commented he.

Wonder why any one would cough up so much for 6800GT when 7900GT Top from ASUS is available for around 20K in India (Source Digit).
