XFX 8800GS heating problem?

I have bought a new XFX 8800GS its an good performer but i am worried with the heat generated .It ideals for around 57 c and while gaming its max out at 88 c are these temperatures normal for this card?(I don't know as this is my first graphics card)
CPU temp never crosses above 40 c (E7200).
I also have one inlet ant outlet 80mm fans in my cabinet.
So what might be the problem?

Yes. The temps are on the highers side. Higher-end GF8 series cards from XFX have typical heating issues. Maybe you are facing one. Though the core can actually sustain such tempratures; you might wanna ask for a replacement.
