Work build for my wife - Ideal Budget 50k

1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: Photoshop, AutoCAD, Sketchup, 3DsMax, SolidWorks

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: 50k ideal. Would like to stick to this (Stretch Max to 70k, if its the last option on Earth)

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: No

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: 250 GB SSD (max) should be fine. Already have external drives for data storage


6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: 24"+, 1080p, IPS panel (preferred) - crucial item, ready to spend more on this


7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: Keyboard (CM), Mouse (Razer DA), RAM (3x2GB 1600Mhz G.Skill). Speakers (iBall Tarang 2.1)


8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: This month

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: Assembler. Can do self if need be

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?

Prime focus is a good display and smooth performance in applications mentioned above. Would appreciate your help on this.

it is also important which type of rendering will be used as some depends heavily on cpu & ram while some benefit greatly from graphics card.in any case config suggested above is good enough except for mobo which is difficult to find in nehru place compared to asus & gigabyte & gfx card(you can get HIS R7 260X for around 7800 from costtocost).you can get GIGABYTE H97-D3H from costtocost for around 8500.

1. You can remove the HDD and Optical drive from the config. These wont be required for now.
2. whitestar_999 has suggested difficult availability of the mSI mobo. Please suggest an alternative in asus or gigabyte just in case
3. I want to understand your rationale between choosing the CPU and GPU. a) Do i really need a CPU worth 21k? b) Will the R7 250X be sufficient enough? c) Are these well balanced together or is there a better mix possible, e.g., lower priced CPU and a better GPU? d) should i also be looking at Quadro or firepro?

i already suggested a gigabyte mobo & as for cpu/gpu query go through that link i posted earlier.

Do not shrink budget on cpu,You can even consider i7 4790 and the i7 will render faster than i5

Xeon E3 1246-V3 is basically an i7 4790 with weaker integrated graphics.

I agree but 4790 is slightly better than xeon e3 1246 v3,its just my opinion

3) A workstation Graphics card is necessary here. So made the necessary changes in the table above.
