I am using P4-1.8GHz, 256 ram, 40Gb Hdd system installed with WinXP professional.

My son was playing demo version of Grand Theft Auto from Digit CD and logged off normally 2 days back.

Since yesterday the system does not start. It gives an error "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM" file missing or corrupt. Run Winxp from CD and run R to repair the system.

On booting from the WINXP CD the moment I press R for repair the same message appears.

What could be the problem ? please help

Thank you
