Windows xp home or pro for gaming

Hey which one will do its best in gaming windows xp home or pro edition...I have heard tht pro edition have more services then home edition.. so it runs slower.. IS this TrUe :roll: ...Also will home edition will be more secure if SP2 installed... basically I am asking all this bacause I need windows for internet and gaming...I am using McAfee Internet Security 2006...It really Sucks my RAM... I need to exist this before playing game... So wht u all prefer.....

Well, if you're using the PC at the time of playing & if you have around 256MB RAM, i advise you disable the auto-protect of Mcafee. You wont' require it at that time. But better switch it on while you're on the net.
I guess xp pro would be a good option. Many indeo codecs & other drivers require specifically the Pro version.

Use a small software named "GameXP"

It will tweak ur OS for best gaming performance n speeding up ur OS.

It disables all the unwanted services n does something more.

So be it be home or Pro, use "GameXP" for the best performance.

As far as gaming is concerned,there really is no difference between xp home and pro except for the fact that u can use the money saved by buying xp home to buy a few more games

Pro is always better option than Home.
but If you want to save your bugs then there are not many differences between xp and home.
Offcourse people say XP provides better option over Internet and some bloaty applications.
Go for XP only if you desire to have best and for ergonomical use take Home edition.

Hey i dont think xp home edition can support multiple cpus.So i you are having a hyperthreaded processor then i think pro would be a little bit advantageous.Otherwise i think they will be equa;;y good.

Home has no problem detecting my HT enabled proccy as 2 cpus....
