Windows XP -Error report --help

Hi!

Iam running a Windows XP_professional edition.Iam facing a strange problem ,whenever i open the browser (Firefox) or email client (Thunderbird) i get this error report which says that Thunderbird has encoundered problem and need to close.I tried reinstalling the browser but the problem persists.In fact i tried to unmark 'send error report' in Windows but when i do that the browser or the email client does not open. I checked for Virus but none was found.Can somebody help me please

i dont no perfect answer about this question.first uninstall the previous version of firefox .when firefox got uninstalled use registery cleaner that will erase firefox settings,if there any saved contents in programfiles firefox folder,delete it
and reinstall the latest version which u can get in net,i think these may solve u r problem
