i have windows xp prof as op system. whenever i get a message that updates are available and i update, when i do rebooting, the sytem does not function at all. this happend first time and i was not aware , so had to reformat and reinstall windows xp. after few days similar message for update available prompted me to update and once again i have faced the same problem. the computer does not complete the bootup even in safe mode.
what is the problem? and why it is happening? what is the solution for thisproblem? i have e scan antivirus which updates everyday and should not be a virus related problem.
any one ?

well seems a strange problem ....try this.....Manually Download the Updates.....1s create a Restore point.....then apply the Update..and see if works or not....if some thing goes wrong..u can always..go back to stable state....

dont update when it prompts it may be a security hole and any spyware is lurking behind

use the autopatcher xp to update inspite of the boring windows update

R u using pirated version, some files get corrupt etc...

 It's not about corrupt files - M$ started to check for validity online before providing some critical or important updates, so anyone not using legit XP/2K3/LH will face the same prob by keeping automatic update enabled.

Try to DL even the bonus pack for MovieMaker v2 & u'll see :!:

Just a glimpse of things to come from M$, or one more reason to switch to Fedora now....

 I'll bet he can emulate the same glitch by just installing SP1 then SP2 while staying offline coz his OS CD is not legit or he activated it using "alternative" method :!:
