What do u mean by 'make a windows shell'??? Are u trying to program a software like 'Explorer.exe'???

Well,I have heard about shell extensions for windows.I want to know more about it.Also I would like to know what a shell extension means in general.Does it have some connection with the windows taskbar or start menu?

By shell, he means something like AstonShell, Talisman, WindowBlinds.

Shell extension are the options u get when u right click some file.

For eg, when u install Norton AV, u get an option like "Scan with Norton Antivirus"
