Windows Picture n Fax Viewer

My windows picture n fax viewer seems to may have got corrupted and i cannot view the thumbnails of pictures in my folders.
It also does not run when i double click any image.
I also havent' installed any other image viewer.
Can anyone of u out there please tell me how i can repair "Windows picture n fax viewer".I dont want to reinstall Windows
I run WinXP SP2 with all latest updates n patches.

use system restore facility. or
goto help and support and search in troubleshooting section.
last option:
use other viewers like irfan view.

but best is to reinstall xp

Go to Start->Run and run regedit

Navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/SystemFileAssociations/image/ShellEx /ContextMenuHandlers

Create a new folder by name 'ShellImagePreview' (without the ') and create the String Value '(Default)'
Assign it the value {e84fda7c-1d6a-45f6-b725-cb260c236066}

Alternative 2: Download *www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs_edits/pictureandfaxrestore.reg and merge it with registry...

You will probably have to reboot to see the changes...
