Windows OS for latest games ?

Hello guys

i want to buy a cheaper MS Windows OS 64-bit version specially for gaming purpose and do not want to use the pirated one.

i'm building amd fx rig and want to play all the latest popular games like BioShock Infinite, Crysis, DOTA 2, farcry, assassin , battlefield 4, watch dogs, also not too old games.

please suggest if

Windows 7 Home Basic 64 will be good enough to play all games smoothly as it is only around 5k.
also let me know where will i get more discount in getting the OS online or any local store?

Look at this . Here are the basic differences between versions of Windows.

To be on safe side, I recommend you to get Home premium rather that Home basic

And if you want everything then consider going for Ultimate version.

So according to that logic, Windows 98 should be even better.

The problem is, the op is on budget. So he can't buy windows 8.1 unless he uses the "ahem" version.

No windows 98 and windows 7 cannot be compared, they are completely different beasts under the hood. To a layman they can be appear comparable I assume. Windows 7 home premium and home basic are basically the same , with basic having less bloat.

OP - ask yourself do you need the features home premium gives ?
