I have a genuine copy of VS 2013 Pro (with WP8/WP8.1 SDK) running on Windows 10 Pro (also genuine). I thought of upgrading to VS 2015 Pro. But, the download seems to be a whooping 12GB. A little search landed me on this page where the Windows 10 SDK can be downloaded as standalone which stands at around 700MB. On the same page, the only requirement mentioned is Windows 10 OS and of course .NET Framework 4.6. But, there is no mention of which version of Visual Studio should be used.
So, If I download that Windows 10 SDK and .NET framework 4.6, Can I keep using VS 2013 Pro to develop Windows 10 Universal Apps?
Also, I remember reading somewhere that VS 2013 Pro users will be upgraded to VS 2015 Pro free of cost. Do I have register somewhere for that?
