I wanted to know that.........

I have a hard disk -- 40 GB samsung..... having win 98 and XP installed in it. My friend asked me that can he run my OS and programs from my HDD which is fit into his computer. will the Os load in his computer as they do in mine????

well chances are 98 may load.....but am doubtfull about XP

well it will work for 98
but not for xp(doubt)

coz Xp will not recognise the hardware (same of yor com to ur friend com)

might be Xp not work

yes it will do for 98(i've done it in the past), but it will require a lot of time for new hardware detection and driver installation. however when u revert back to your own system, the 98 will boot as ever.

not sure about XP but i think it will follow the same path!

Yes i have trie it before my hdd have win XP & it worked fine in my friend pc.
There is only little problem in configuring new hardware.
Beware Xp might crete problem in your own PC when connected back(i have to configure my modem again)
