i think its jus tat there has NOT been a smooth install ...coz if it came preinstalled with x64 bit OS, there shud be absolutely NO problem in running a 32bit OS.. jus reinstall ur OS (be it any one--- 32bit or 64bit).. :)

also, the s.ware (drivers0 for graphics card is different, say for a 32bit OS, the graphics drivers needed are 32bit and so on.. :)

but if u want a DUAL OS Setup (for eg: win xp pro 32bit and Win vista x64) then install 32bit OS first and then install 64bit os.. :)

and plz post ur results.... :)

32bit OSes (say win xp pro 32bit) will show jus 3GB RAM (sumtimes jus 2GB) wen originally there is 4GB available.. :)

atleast that was the case with me on my new system (in my siggy) until i flashed (updated the bios for my desktop mobo) :)

do one thing,. install a small s/.ware known as CPU-Z (foofle for it) and see wat values are detected by it for ur RAM .. :)

The presence of 4 GB RAM will not cause a problem with a 32-bit OS, but only 3 GB will be useable.

the problem of slowing is only with the processor hungry applications...like playing a movie in VLC player...also pc's sound crackers ...

the maximum RAM Supported by WinXP is 3GB even if you install 4GB on your board XP will show your 3GB
