no.. you got it all confused..
let me try to explain.
before virtue, if a system had onboard GFX as well as discrete gfx, then both could not be used together. you had to turn off the internal GPU in the BIOS.
then came sandy bridge which included QuickSync technology for faster encoding of videos, but if a person bought a GFX card then he could not use the quick sync technology because it had to be disabled. by using virtue, both the GFX subsystem can be used without restarting computer. video conversion softwares can utilize the onboard GFX, and games could use the dedicated GFX.
