My friend purchased a Samsung NP355E5X netbook, which runs on some AMD Dual Core APU 1.4 GHz. It comes with DOS, so need to install a proper OS. That CPU is pretty average, so which OS should he install, Windows 7 or Windows 8? Also 32 or 64 bit?
Please don't recommend any Linux stuffs.

Okay, I should've asked which between Win 7 and Win 8.
Yeah, some people doesn't understand Linux, but that friend of mine is the most intelligent person I've ever seen, so for him he doesn't wanna understand ;)

From my experience, though not on netbooks, I've found win 8 to be less resource hungry and noticeably more responsive and faster especially in copying operations than win 7. Go with 32bit (assuming ram is only 2gb)

Though I'd personal prefer a Linux distro with xfce or lxde as DE but since you don't want to be friends with linux,,, meh :p

I am not sure if Windows 8 or 7 will be a good choice. For proper utilization of your hardware, XP is better.
