which hard disk is best?

i'm considering to buy a new hard disk i hav ASRock intel 865GV chipset motherboard which is SATA1 compatible. I just needed to know that which HDD will be best? I'm thinking abt atleast 160 or may be 250GB disk.Plz mention some good HDDs.

Samsung has been really reliable for me so far. Ive used my 80gb drive for nearly 4 years now. Ive really rough handled it and i haved had a single problem.

This should have been in q&a though.

seagate .. i dont recommend samsung storage devices .... cd-roms, hdd .... only monitors are worth buying ... my personal experience

Actually samsung HDDs are quite good.I have used 2 smasungs and they are very good.
Currently using seagate 250GB.Good overall but noisy.

GO for Western Digital...WD2500KS...
I am using this 250GB SATA2 hard disk with 16MB buffer and it is excellent...
Noise is low...it didnt above 24 degrees on full load throughout the winters...
In summers it doesnt go above 35 degrees or so...
I am completely satisfied with it and also western digital offers door to door warranty service...

I think WD is better. I have got an old Samsung HD which has started developing bad sectors.:(

been using it for 14+ months, never experienced a Bad Sector, data corruption....

even though my PC suffered 20+ power cuts.
