Which AntiVirus for Laptop?

I want an Antivirus OR Internet Securitry, etc for Laptop (Sony Vaio SR-46GD) having good configuration:
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.5 GHhz, 4GB RAM, 512MB GPU, 250GB HDD

NOTE:
1: Antivirus SHOULD BE DISABLED at Startup.
I WILL ENABLE IT ONLY WHEN USING INTERNET.

2: I am a LOT CONCERENED about battery backup.
Battery Life is usually 4 hours, but it SHOULD remain same after
installing(using) Antivirus.
So, Antivirus should have NO IMPACT on Battery.

Disable KIS itself / Disable it from running @ startup

Enable it when manually when u'll b using internet.

Set scan feature "Dont scan if running on battery"

Well.........both ths features r supported by all antivirus(as far i knw)

KIS is gud........but u can go for ny other if u dnt like KIS personally.....

Only av that can be completely disabled frm start-up is kaspersky

If I set Avast Service from Automatic to MANUAL in Servicers.msc,
Then delete it from StartUp via MsConfig.
Then it will not run at StartUp,

But here is another problem, whenever I have to Start Avast AntiVirus, I cannot click on START > Avast > Avast! AntiVirus, because it woun't start.
I have to go to Services.msc Then START the Service, then Start the Avast! Antivirus.
THIS IS A PROBLEM HERE.
