Where to place the second RAM?

I purchased another 1GB RAM for my computer (configuration in my signature). Where should I place this second RAM, whether in any of the remaining three slots or nearest to the first RAM. The first RAM is nearest to the Processor. Both are DDR2 533MHz RAM.

if your motherboad support dual channel..........than make combination as:
1-3 OR 2-4 slots.

I think it's 1-2 and 3-4 for AMD mobo's

I have never used AMD based mother board.
Please refer to manual of motherboard for dual channel configuration.

My MoBo is Intel 945GNT with four RAM slots.


By the way, whether there will be any appreciable difference in performance on placing the two RAMs in same colour slots or opposite colour slots?

Put the two RAM's in two blue colored slots or in two black colored slot. I prefer the blue ones
