Whats up with Office 2013

Ok, I wanted to try Office 2013 so I downloaded office 2013 .img files and installed it. Then as usual, i deleted all temporary and .msi files in %temp%, C:/windows/installer and MSOCache folder. Then when i launched PowerPoint through start menu, it can't run and says it needs some .msi file. I clicked cancel. But, then I tried opening powerpoint again from Program Files/Microsoft Office/OFFICE15 folder and for my surprise, it opened flawlessly.

So, this means even if I install Office completely, the stupid program will need the installer to run itself properly  . Thats like a DRM on MS Office. This didn't happen with office 2007 though. This is convincing enough for me to not buy the latest Student version. I'm happy with office 2007.

you probably didn't select the options "run from hard disk" etc for various office components during customize install.

maybe it happened because you deleted files before launching & doing initial configuration of office components.after install launch each office application first before deleting anything & see if it solves the issue.
